Today in remembrance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. we celebrate more than (for many of us) just a day off work. We commemorate all that he did for our nation. As a spokesman and leader for racial equality in the American civil rights movement his words and his actions were a pivotal moment in history that allowed for many of the freedoms we have today. We still have a long way to go, but today and every day, it’s dope being black. 🖤✊🏾

Hi, it’s me and I’m addicted to solo travel. It’s just…liberating. I feel like you learn the most about yourself when you put yourself in unpredictable situations. For me, that’s flying across the world to a place I’ve only seen on TV screens. But I love it. I meet so many interesting people and learn about many different cultures along the way. If you’re looking to solo travel but you’re nervous, try something in yours state first or something stateside and then slowly expand on the distance. I promise you will NOT be disappointed.

The only two things I don’t like about regaling alone: 1. It can be expensive. 2. A lot of the strangers who take your photos never get it quite right. 🤷🏾‍♀️

With COVID-19 still going strong, we’ve all had to find new ways to self-care for ourselves. One of mine is simply moving. Leaving the house, getting active and just enjoying the last days of summer. Last weekend, some friends and I took a road trip to Traverse City, MI. If you’re not familiar, aside from wine and breathtaking beaches, TC is known for CHERRIES 🍒! You can’t take a trip and skip ! I grabbed a mini cherry pie crumble AND and a slide of caramel apple crumble pie. 😋 What’s your favorite pie?
