=========================== MORE BUS UPDATES ===========================

I've just added the route to RInia, which I'd actually overlooked when I first started logging bus routes in 2024. This small village is up on the North coast, past Porto Romano, and right by the 'Keneta e Durrësit', a marshy area that leads to the beach. If anyone was looking to visit and wander the coastline cheaply (100 LEK) then this is one way to do it. Be aware, however, that the last returning bus is at 16:30 and it's a hell of a way to walk back :)

I've also finally made the Albanian (shqip) page live. I put it off for so long as I was unsatisfied with the AI translation but it's unlikely to get fixed anytime soon so hopefully it will suffice.

ROUTE BUTTONS ADDED

Hi there, bus lovers! Today, I added buttons at the top of the website page so users can automatically jump to the route of their choice. This should make things slightly easier if you're regularly consulting the map of a route further down the page, e.g., Golem, and find it awkward to scroll past all the other maps.

The Durrës by Bus crew were out at the main Bus Station (Stacioni i Trenit) today, collecting data on some of the smaller inter-urban routes serving towns and villages around the city's periphery. Not all of these routes will be of interest to expats, unless you just love exploring, but some destinations lie along the beautiful coastal region north of the city and up to the Cape of Rodon.

As usual, and given my lack of Shqip, all the real work was done by Eneida Hoxhaj, without whom the entire Durrës by Bus website project would have been impossible. If anyone reading this ever needs a fantastic Albanian-to-English facilitator or interpreter/translator, then get in touch, and I'll pass the request on to Eneida.

Destinations captured this time: Has, Laç, Gjiri i Lalëzit, Shkoder, Katundi i Ri, Sukth, Rrushkull, Tirana (cos why not), Flakkë and (apparently) Peshkopi. More to come. These will be added to the site after a redesign.

NOTE: For those who haven't found it yet, the app at https://etransport.al shows most of the important bus routes throughout Albania and covers all the intercity buses from both Durrës centre and Plepa bus station. It can be downloaded as an Apple/Android app. However, it doesn't show fares and doesn't cover the routes available on Durrës by Bus.

So I go away for 90 days, and when I come back, a new Currila bus has dropped! No way near as charming as the original (which is still in service, I note).
