High up in the mountains of Armenia. From Hellenistic Mithra temple of the 1st century to the 12th century monastery of Gerhard carved into the mountain herself. Humans carved dwellings, hermits lived in caves here for thousands of years. The abundance of volcanic stones makes this place feel solid. Unmoveable. Here to stay. The earliest Chrisian state, with their unique language, culture and will to remain in the face of empires, religions and wars surrounding them.

Leaving the magnificent island of Cyprus on a long journey with a touch down in my beloved Turkiye, I set the intention to experience kindness on this trip. Kindness coming from me and towards me. And didn't have to wait long. When I boarded the first plane, the initial announcement after welcoming the passengers was the following: "Dear passengers. Let's remember that December 3rd is the international day of people with disabilities. We want to acknowledge that we all share this planet" I was in tears. I now call Turkish Airlines the airline of kindness. Is it a wonder the side of the plane says Star Alliance? Wow.

Change is not easy. Yet that’s the only constant in life. Born in Russia, brought up in Hungary and the United States. Back in Hungary, the USA again. Where to next? No idea. Being the Global citizen I am, I believe that the only true home I have is my body. Wherever I go, she comes with me. What I have learned and want to pass on is the gift of making changes. It all starts with a vision, a desire, a pain that if things stay the same, you simply can’t go on. You know you want it different and have no idea how to begin. That is where I can help. Let the Compassionate Compass guide you back to you.
Devotion, prayer, sacred reverence are a form of life. You don’t need to be part of a religious order to live a life of prayer. My spiritual path has been one of going from childhood oblivion to all-encompassing awakening. If you feel like you resonate with what I am saying, I see you. Or as teenagers say these days: I feel ya. Because I do. Oneness is real. You don’t have to agree. Love is felt on a cellular level. Nurture and nourish is my Nature. It has been passed down to me by the generations of women before me. My Russian mother and my Hungarian Grandmother had given me the gift of culinary art. I can create dishes from scratch infused with joy, based in my ethnic background whether it is borsch or pogácsa. My children have gifted me the importance of full attention, empathy and understanding way beyond language and words.
My breakthrough moment was finding Qoya. Growing up overweight, with a constant message of not being good enough, it was a shift so massive it is hard to express for me when I actually became a teacher of a movement practice. Going from broken to radiant. I am wise, wild and free. And so are you. Qoya is so much more than just a movement. It is an access tool to re-member. I feel 100% alive when I get to teach it. Down to every cell in my body, in my bones.
Travel. Inward and outward, the journey, the dance never stops. My passion for travel I sucked up with my mother’s milk. I was on a train, a plane or a bus from the day I was born. Grandparents in different countries, family on different continents got me in an orbit. Now I consider myself bi-country, comfortable being anywhere in the world, finding my way.
Teaching: The teacher comes out in every aspect in my life. My kids used to complain that I never stopped being a school teacher even at home. When we’d go on trips I’d say to them: use the bathroom when you can, not when you need to. Similarly, I tend to be wordy in my explanations and stories when I am tour-guiding, wanting to pass on all of what I know.
One of the main visions I had in creating Compassionate Compass, was to offer my hand to those who would love to go places, but lack language or experience in traveling. And in the places that are familiar on the outside, we can always journey inward. Noticing, reflecting what is shaping our experiences moment to moment.
