📍Zorats Karer (Carahunge) — Armenia’s Ancient Observatory

Long before modern science, the skies over Armenia were already being watched… Welcome to Zorats Karer, also known as Carahunge — a megalithic site often called the “Armenian Stonehenge.” Located in the Syunik region, this mysterious field of standing stones has fascinated historians and dreamers alike. Over 200 massive stones, some with perfectly circular holes, are believed to be part of an ancient observatory dating back over 7,500 years. Whether it was used for tracking stars, spiritual rituals, or both — no one knows for sure.
