Haghartsin is a medieval Armenian monastery complex located in the Tavush region, not far from the city of Dilijan. It was founded in the 10th-13th centuries and is one of the exceptional examples of Armenian architecture. The complex consists of several churches, a library, and other structures, surrounded by beautiful forests. Haghartsin is known for its unique khachkars and stone statues that adorn the territory of the complex. The monastery complex has historically been an important spiritual and cultural center, serving as an educational institution in medieval Armenia. The Garni Temple is one of the oldest historical and cultural monuments in Armenia, located in the Kotayk region, near the village of Garni. The temple was built in the 1st century by order of King Trdat I, dedicated to the pagan sun god Mihr. It is a unique example of preserved Hellenistic architecture in Armenia, which testifies to the Roman influence in the region. The Garni Temple is distinguished by its columned facade, which consists of 24 columns in the Ionic style.
The temple stood until 1679, when it was destroyed by an earthquake. It was restored in the 1960s, virtually rebuilding from the ruins. The Garni Temple is not only a monument, but also a popular tourist destination, attracting visitors with its historical value and beautiful landscape, including the natural wonder of the Garni Gorge.
