I had to add recently-opened ONNO CAFE to my list of best brunch cafes outside Edinburgh, along with Restoration Yard, The Paper Mill Lasswade, Craigie's Farm Shop and Cafe, The Beach House, The Secret Herb Garden (temporarily closed), and Patina Edinburgh.

Here's my list of the best cafes for brunch near Edinburgh that locals love, with locally sourced food, friendly staff, and a cozy atmosphere.

What a day! After exploring around the Acropolis (we'll visit the Parthenon on Sunday when it's free for International Museums Day), we did an amazing food tour with .

We had over a dozen dishes, including Greek coffee, koulouri, meat pies, baklava, ouzo, cheeses, Greek yogurt, and so much more, culminating in an entire meal at a local, family-run restaurant.

I'm absolutely in love with Greek food. I just wish I could stay here a few more weeks to enjoy the cuisine longer, but I have to get back to Edinburgh to deliver my own food tours. I'll also get a full video and article up when I'm back on the desktop and can edit all the footage.

Pro tip: If you have a layover of a few hours, try to get into the city center to explore. Vanesa and I had a few hours in Frankfurt on the way to Greece, so we spent the afternoon trying some of the best coffee in town and a strawberry Danish at , explored the old buildings around the main square, and had a delicious lunch of schnitzel and local bratwurst at the central market.

Here are a few more photos from the 2025/2026 Hogmanay celebrations in Edinburgh this year. I'm so glad the fireworks were back! I'm sure I'm biased, but Edinburgh has one of the best New Year's Eve celebrations in the world.

Of all the food tours I've been on around the world, is one of the best. The Asado Adventure isn't just a food tour, it's a culinary experience. After getting the fire started and preparing the chimichurri, our guide Frank took us on a history tour around Palermo. We stopped at a wine shop for wine and cheese samples, before heading back to his beautiful home. There, we helped him cook a delicious Asado (Argentine BBQ) complete with vegetables, different cuts of beef, sausages, and more. We were absolutely stuffed by the end. Even Vanesa, born and bred in Buenos Aires, learned so much information. If you have plans to visit Argentina, this must be at the top of your list!

Nearly a decade calling Scotland my home base, and I've barely been in the snow. It's been my curse to almost always be out of town when the snow hits. Well, we rectified that this week.

The is one of Scotland's two National Parks, and right now it's covered in snow. We've had the most wonderful adventure visiting the frozen lochs, sledding on the hills, and having an absolutely serene sleep.

Best of all, my Samsung S24 Ultra was able to capture this photo late at night.

The North Coast 500 in Scotland is one of the most beautiful road trips I've ever done in the world. But you know me, I often travel for the food. What an incredible 24 hours it has been. Found the best sushi in Edinburgh at Kenji sushi, tried some great wine at the Drag Queen Wine Tasting show, and saw the premier showing of Silent Roar at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
