I had a magical visit of the waterfalls thanks to Birding Iguazu! Pocho is passionate and will spot all the beautiful local birds; a perfect way to visit the waterfalls and the local faune at the same time.
I had such great time with you guys, thank you really ! I think he could not have been better, I am lucky I met you...

Pocho is such a legend! Experience of a lifetime for birds, all the story, the knowledge and the most of all the sights I got from birds because of Pancho are incredible. Much more in the eyes than in picture, forever in my mind! ✨

=) Spectacular and spontaneous birding outing with my new friend Not only did we enjoy some great species, but he also visited us at Birding Iguazú and met who is visiting us and bringing his magic all the way from Colombia and working the wood on our birders’ cabin project—we hope to have it open soon. Will let you know...

Thanks for trusting us and sharing your time with us, Baptiste. Good birding always, my friend!

After a tour with great species, deep conversations, and lots of good fun, we saw a couple of Blue Dacnis at Birding Iguazú (that will be a lodge for birders soon) along with several hummingbirds and other birds that crowned the day.

Thank you, Bob and Noreen!

Birdwatching with Pocho (25 Feb 2026)

I went out birdwatching to Route 101 - a dirt road through lush forest with a bird hide and tracks leading off which we could walk down - just me (50-something female) with Pocho, and our driver. We started pre-dawn in a hide next to the road and watched as daybreak revealed the first birds, ibis roosting in the trees. Pocho declared this to be an excellent sighting, and so the morning continued with more significant sightings. Pocho was not at all put off by me being an “amateur” without a “list”, more out birdwatching as a way to enjoy the specialness of being in nature. He enthusiastically spotted bird after bird with an amazing ability to not only see them at all but to identify them from the smallest detail, which he confirmed time and time again when the bird settled and carried on its activity near us.

The whole experience was one of my favourite and most memorable from a month in South America, due also in large part to the kindness of Pocho, who made me feel I was out with a friend, not “just” a guide.

A small clip of a few Black-fronted Piping Guans — a truly beautiful species that is also critically endangered.

This shot comes from an encounter with a flock that reached around 10 individuals. They didn’t make it into the video, but sharing the same space were Slaty-breasted Woodrails, Sharp-tailed Streamcreepers, and Riverbank Warblers, along with several other excellent species.

A morning of serious birding, long conversations, and plenty of laughs with Leah.

Thanks for trusting in us — and birders, you are always welcome!

Me hace feliz que mis clientes sean felices, y estos son algunos de los momentos que representan esa alegría compartida. Gracias Leah, familia Giancola… ¡y a los Tucanes Grandes también! Saludos y buen pajareo.

It makes me happy when my clients are happy, and these are some moments that represent that shared joy. Thanks Leah, the Giancola family… and the Toco Toucans too! Greetings and good birding.

Pocho! Thanks for sending the ebird lists and thanks for the two days. You are very knowledgable and relaxed and we enjoyed the learning experience. Hope to learn more from you in the future.
Steve and Erica

Thanks, my friends Steve and Erica, for supporting our work. It truly means a lot. I hope life brings us together again somewhere in the field — watching birds, talking about history and culture, and sharing a few good laughs along the way.

Wishing you a beautiful life and always good birding.

Pocho guided me on a wonderful birding excursion in the Argentinian side of the Iguazú Falls park. I had a fantastic experience, thanks to his expert-level knowledge of the local birds. Of course his birding by ear skills are excellent, which meant he was able to find some difficult species. He knows Iguazú like the back of his hand and will arrange the day to your specific preferences. Highly recommended!

My husband and I are from the United States and hired Pocho to take us birding for 3 mornings by Iguazu Falls.

He had different destinations for us each morning. He was very familiar with the areas and located the birds by their song and then we would finally see them.

He gave us lessons on the history and culture of Argentina while we were waiting for the birds. He is fluent is English, which was important for us. He is very personable and thoroughly enjoyed our outings.

I can highly recommend him for bird guiding.

Thank you, Natalie and Bill, for trusting us and for the truly top birding and deeply endearing human moments.

Aesthetic highs like the Toco Toucan showing several times. Lovely, close, and fascinating, like the juvenile Rufescent Tiger-Heron.Tough and interesting ones like the Sharp-tailed Streamcreeper. And super top moments — like that distant but unmistakable view of the Ornate Hawk-Eagle And I could keep going, made our birding tour a unforgettable experience.

Thanks a lot for the pics Bill!

One of the most expected pleasures on our tours is when we get close looks at Toco Toucans perched out in the open — big bills glowing, Interacting right in front of us. Totally wild and free in Iguazú National Park

Moments like this are why we wake up before dawn.

Greetings and good birding to the world. 🐦🌎

Watching Snail Kites at Iguazú Falls never gets old.
This elegant raptor is a true specialist, perfectly adapted to feed on snails, with its long, curved bill doing the job with surgical precision.

Seeing them here is surprisingly easy — flying low over wetlands, perching calmly, and often hunting right in front of us during our birding tours.
Having such a beautiful, highly specialized species in such an iconic landscape is one of those moments where birding and scenery come together effortlessly.
