We have been snowshoeing again, which brought us up to 1706 metres above sea level at Gaberlpass in Styria. Phenomenal views and great weather made the 5.5 km hike perfect.

Despite being winter, walking through the mountains in Austria is an incredible experience. The spectacular views of the mountains and trails covered with white snow with the contrast of the blue sky and the green of the trees is a breathtaking sight

The "Grenzparnoramaweg" takes you along the border between Austria (Styria) and Slovenia. During the 10 km, I crossed the border 13 times!! Simply because the trail follows the best views and not the border. Nonetheless, the ridgeline (up to 773 masl.) offers stunning 360-degree views in several places. Photo: Arnold Weisz ©
