New Year's Day 2016. For our first New Year in Germany, I wanted to see its capital. We time traveled to Berlin (or should I say "Burrrr"lin) in 12 degree weather to check out the Berlin Wall and other historical 'cold' war sights (pun intended haha). Thank goodness for stroller sleeping bags. Jacob likes to nap in the cold❄️.

40,000 'unclaimed' bodies were 'evicted' from their resting place to make room for more bodies at the cemetery grounds. Most of these bodies were from war fatalities during the Hussite and World Wars. You will notice fatal wounds and injuries from swords, arrows and maces on some of the skulls. Their bones were exhumed and used to remind the living to keep holy because death is inevitable. This theological purpose later became an artistic cause as they masterfully used all bones of the body to construct the famous bone chandelier.

Bucket list Czech✔️ :: Pražské Jezulátko. Sunday mass in at the Church of the Holy Infant Jesus of Prague. My preggie journey wouldn't have been complete without many prayers to Him in baby form, especially after being told of complications post Week 20. Time travelled to the romantic period in search of Mr. Darcy! If you've ever read Jane Austen's Pride & Predjudice, you'll know what I mean😉😁. Inside the assembly room and tea room or simply outside along the streets and park, I encountered Gregorian lifestyle and architecture at its finest! Gregorian fashion is also absolutely lovely. They didn't share my enthusiasm but I did drag the boys (hubby and son) with me on this 'girly' experience. Tea for two & table for three, please!

Fun fact: More than just an ancient burial site, Stonehenge also functioned as a seasonal clock/calendar. The pivotal, although often neglected heel stone (single stone at right), points to the direction of the sunrise at the start of the SUMMER SOLSTICE on June 21st. Have a great summer everyone! 🇬🇧 ☀️
