New Artist JUST ADDED: Please welcome to BRAVO 2025 Debora Krizak.
One of Australia’s most versatile and critically acclaimed leading ladies of musical theatre. Currently starring in ANNIE The Musical playing “Miss Hannigan”, Debora’s theatre credits include Mel Brooks’ The Producers, Titanic - a new musical, Respect the Musical, Calendar Girls, Sondheim On Sondheim and A Chorus Line - playing the role of Sheila, which earned her a Helpmann Award Nomination for best supporting actress and winner of Broadway World’s most popular actress in a musical.
Debora has also toured Australia and abroad in the acclaimed Australian production of Sweet Charity, playing the dual roles of Nickie and Ursula (Helpmann/Greenroom nom) as well as winning the Sydney Theatre Critics Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical. She then made her debut with Opera Australia, playing the role of Erma in the Cole Porter Musical Anything Goes (Glug award), and following that she starred in The Production Company’s Jerry’s Girls, playing one of ten of Australia’s most celebrated leading ladies.
Debora has also starred in Cabaret (Fraulein Kost), as well as the original Australian workshop production of Lola Montez, playing the title role.
Other roles include Tanya in Mamma Mia, Killer Queen in We Will Rock You for Riverside Theatres, the Brisbane season of Cinderella, playing the role of the wicked step mother “Madame” for XRoads/Opera Australia, Razorhurst (Kate Leigh) for Hayes Theatre and Billy Elliot (Mrs Wilkinson) for Matt Ward Productions and The Very Popular Theatre Company. Most recently, Debora played the wicked step mother in the UK Pantomime Snow White for Bonnie Lythgoe Productions.
Debora has also worked extensively in cabaret, as one half of the comic cabaret duo The Carpenters From Kempsey and has taken her one woman show “SSH There’s A Lady On Stage”, on board cruise liners all around the world. She wrote and produced Laugh Be a Lady for the Adelaide Cabaret Festival and her corporate and concert engagements include the Paralympic Games, the ASO’s James Bond concert series and Christmas Proms, the national anthem for both the men's and women's Ashes Cricket test, the Australian Football League and Papua New Guinea’s Susa Mama’s Charity.
Live television appearances include host of Channel Ten’s The Music Shop, Good Morning Australia with Bert Newton, performances on Sunrise and Today, as well as being a recognizable face on various television commercials, most recently being the real estate dot com campaign which aired during the 2024 Olympic Games.
Debora also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Performing Arts, as well as a post graduate diploma in Journalism. She is a grateful Mum to twins and in her spare time, she loves to work with birds and is passionately involved in the care of elderly people with dementia and disability.
