🏯 Huế – One of the Most Peaceful and Cultural Experiences in Vietnam

If Vietnam has a quiet soul, you’ll find it in Huế.

If you’re travelling through Vietnam and looking for somewhere calm, historic, and meaningful, Huế is one place you shouldn’t rush through.

Once the ancient capital of Vietnam, Huế feels completely different from the busy energy of cities like Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City. It’s slower, softer, and filled with history at every corner.

The moment you arrive, everything feels more peaceful.

The Perfume River flows gently through the city, ancient pagodas sit quietly by the water, and the Imperial Citadel still carries the weight of Vietnam’s royal past.

Why travellers love Huế:

🏯 The Imperial Citadel – massive, historic, and full of stories from Vietnam’s royal dynasty
🛶 Perfume River boat rides – slow, peaceful, and especially beautiful at sunset
🕯️ Ancient pagodas and royal tombs surrounded by nature and silence
🍜 Incredible local food – from the iconic Bún Bò Huế to delicate royal-inspired dishes
🌿 A calm, less crowded atmosphere compared to other major cities

What it feels like:

Walking through Huế feels like stepping into a different time.

The air is quieter. The streets are slower. Even the river seems to move at its own calm rhythm.

At sunset, the Perfume River turns golden, and the city feels almost still — like everything has paused for a moment.

Huế is not a city you rush through — it’s a place you slowly experience.

Handy tips:

📍 Best time to visit: February to April for cooler, pleasant weather
🚲 Rent a bicycle or take a cyclo to explore at a slow pace
🛶 Take a dragon boat ride along the Perfume River at sunset
👟 Wear comfortable shoes – the Citadel is large and worth exploring slowly

Many of our Australian travellers say Huế becomes one of the most unexpectedly meaningful stops in their Vietnam trip.

It’s not the loudest destination — but it’s often the one that stays in their memory the longest.

If you’re planning a Vietnam itinerary, Huế is definitely worth including.

💋 Kiss Bridge Phú Quốc – One of the Most Romantic Spots in Vietnam

If you’re visiting Phú Quốc as a couple, this is one place you really shouldn’t miss.

Stretching out over the ocean at sunset, Kiss Bridge (Cầu Hôn) feels more like a movie scene than a normal attraction. Its unique design features two separate spans reaching toward each other, leaving a narrow gap that perfectly frames the sunset as the sun slowly drops between them.

With the sea breeze, golden light, and endless ocean views all around, it’s easily one of the most romantic places on the island.

Why couples love it:

🌅 Incredible sunset views over the ocean
📸 One of the best photo spots in Phú Quốc
💑 Calm, romantic atmosphere that feels surprisingly peaceful
🌊 Fresh ocean air and beautiful sea views everywhere you look
🏝️ Easy to combine with nearby beaches and sunset spots

What it feels like:

As the sun begins to set, the bridge glows with warm golden light reflected across the water. Couples slowly walk toward the centre while the ocean breeze cools everything around them.

For a while, everything feels quiet, cinematic, and almost unreal.

Handy tips:

📍 Go in the late afternoon (around 5 PM) before sunset
📸 Bring your camera — sunset photos here are incredible
📅 Weekdays are usually less crowded
🌅 Stay until sunset for the full experience

Many of our Australian couples say visiting Kiss Bridge became one of their favourite memories in Phú Quốc.

If you’re planning a romantic Vietnam getaway, this is definitely one of those experiences worth adding to your itinerary 👇

🌴 Cẩm Thanh Coconut Village – One of the Most Peaceful Spots Near Hoi An
Most people who visit Hoi An spend all their time in the Ancient Town — and that’s great. But if you want a completely different vibe, just 10–15 minutes away is a place that feels like another world.
Cẩm Thanh Coconut Village is full of quiet waterways, endless coconut palms, and a slow, calming rhythm that makes you instantly relax.
It’s one of those rare places where time genuinely feels like it slows down.
What makes it special:

🛶 Traditional basket boat rides through narrow coconut groves — peaceful, fun, and surprisingly relaxing
🌴 Stunning green scenery with coconut trees beautifully reflected on the water
👨‍🌾 Local families still making traditional coconut products by hand
🌿 A refreshing and quiet contrast to the busy streets of Hoi An
📸 Beautiful soft light, especially in the morning or late afternoon

What it feels like:
Floating gently through the coconut forest in a round basket boat, you hear only the soft sound of paddles in the water and birds overhead. The town noise disappears, the air feels cooler, and everything becomes simple and serene.
For a short while, it doesn’t even feel like you’re just minutes from one of Vietnam’s busiest tourist towns.
Many of our Australian travellers didn’t expect much from Cẩm Thanh at first — but it often ends up being one of their favourite and most peaceful memories from Hoi An.
If you’re planning a trip to Hoi An and want the perfect mix of culture, food, and relaxing countryside moments, we often include Cẩm Thanh in our personalised itineraries.
At Flexi Tour Centre, we specialise in creating flexible Vietnam tours from Australia that balance popular attractions with authentic local experiences like this.

Golden Bridge at Ba Na Hills honestly feels unreal when you see it in person. The clouds rolling through the mountains, the giant stone hands, and the cool morning air make this one of the most unforgettable places to visit in Vietnam.

✨ Best time to visit?
Early morning or sunset for the best weather, softer light, and fewer crowds.

Many travelers visiting Central Vietnam combine Golden Bridge with:
• Da Nang
• Hoi An Ancient Town
• Marble Mountains
• Coconut Boat experiences

🏮 Chợ Lớn (Cholon): One of the Most Authentic Experiences in Ho Chi Minh City
If you only experience Ho Chi Minh City through District 1 — Ben Thanh Market, Nguyen Hue Walking Street, and rooftop bars — you’re only seeing one side of the city.
Just 10–15 minutes away lies a completely different world.
Chợ Lớn, Saigon’s historic Chinatown, is busy, colourful, slightly chaotic, and incredibly alive. It’s where Chinese-Vietnamese culture has been preserved for generations, and daily life still feels raw and real.
The moment you step into its narrow streets, everything changes.
Why it’s worth visiting:

🍜 Incredible street food — bánh cuốn, xíu mại, duck rice, and chè from family stalls
🏮 Beautiful old temples and assembly halls filled with incense and history
🧭 A raw, local atmosphere far less touristy than the centre
📸 Endless photo moments in narrow alleys and bustling markets
🚶 Best explored slowly, without a fixed plan

What it feels like:
Walking through Chợ Lớn is a full sensory experience — the smell of incense from temples, the sound of motorbikes squeezing through tight alleyways, and the constant rhythm of local life all around you.
It’s messy, loud, and chaotic… but in a way that feels deeply alive.
Handy tips for Aussie travellers:

📍 Go in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat
👟 Wear comfortable shoes — there’s a lot of walking
💵 Bring cash (small notes are useful)
🍜 Eat where the locals eat — that’s usually the best

A lot of our Australian travellers didn’t plan to visit Chợ Lớn at first — but after going, many said it completely changed how they saw Saigon.
At Flexi Tour Centre, we love including authentic local experiences like Chợ Lớn in our personalised Vietnam tours from Australia.
Most people don’t expect Chợ Lớn to be this interesting — until they go. 👇

🚤 Saigon Water Bus: One of Saigon’s Most Underrated Experiences
Most people only know Ho Chi Minh City for its chaos — endless scooters, constant noise, and non-stop energy.
But just a few minutes away, the city feels completely different.
The Saigon Water Bus lets you escape the traffic and see Saigon from the river. Suddenly the noise fades, the skyline opens up, and everything becomes calmer and more peaceful.
It’s simple, local, and surprisingly memorable.
Why it’s worth doing:

🌅 Beautiful skyline views, especially at sunset
💸 Very affordable — usually under AUD $5 return
📸 Great photo opportunities (Landmark 81 looks incredible from the water)
🛥️ A relaxing break from the busy streets
🇻🇳 Feels authentic because locals use it every day

Quick tips:

📍 Start at Bach Dang Wharf in District 1
➡️ Sit on the right side for the best views
🕓 Late afternoon or sunset is the magic time

It’s not a luxury cruise — and that’s exactly why many of our clients at Flexi Tour Centre love it. We often include the Saigon Water Bus in our personalised Vietnam tours from Australia because it offers a completely different perspective of the city.
If you’re planning a trip to Ho Chi Minh City and want a good mix of energetic sights and quiet moments like this, feel free to reach out. We specialise in creating flexible itineraries tailored for Australian travellers.

07/05/2026

Vietnam has officially updated its immigration procedures, and all foreign travelers arriving in Ho Chi Minh City should be aware of this before flying.

Starting from April 15, 2026, foreign nationals and overseas Vietnamese entering Vietnam with a visa are required to complete an online pre-arrival declaration before landing at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

What travelers need to do:
🔹 Submit the online declaration before departure (available up to 3 days prior to arrival)
🔹 Receive a confirmation QR code after submission
🔹 Show the QR code to immigration officers upon arrival

Vietnamese passport holders and transit passengers are not required to complete this step. Submitting the declaration in advance can help reduce waiting times and make the arrival process much smoother.

The system is also expected to expand to other airports across Vietnam soon, reflecting the country’s continued efforts to modernise and improve the travel experience for international visitors.

If you book your Vietnam trip with Flexi Tour Centre, our team will highly likely assist you with the pre-arrival declaration process to help make your journey easier and stress-free. Contact Flexi Tour Centre for more details and travel support before your departure.
