It’s been 3.5 years since we shut the South Australian Beaches merch store 🥹

We still get asked all the time if it’s coming back — especially in summer.

So let’s settle it…

If we brought it back (limited runs, quality gear), would you be in?

👇 Yes / No / What would you want to see?

Merry Christmas ya filthy animals! 🎅🏼

Who’s Aurora hunting tonight?! ✨

A Severe Geomagnetic Storm (G4) is currently in progress as of 12pm AEDT Wednesday, 12 November 2025.

The Australian Space Weather Forecasting Centre has issued an Aurora Alert. The Aurora Australis may be visible from unusually low latitudes, including dark-sky locations near Sydney and Perth.

To view auroras, you ideally need a dark night with little cloud cover, and an unobstructed view to the south.

Clear skies are forecast tonight for New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and the majority of South Australia and Western Australia.

There will be cloudy skies across most of Tasmania. Victoria will have partly cloudy skies in several districts but some breaks in the cloud that could hopefully provide some good viewing windows.

For the latest forecasts and warnings for your area, go to our website www.bom.gov.au or visit the BOM Weather app.

Police in the Southeast of the state are reminding visitors and off-road drivers regarding driving in sand dunes.

Drivers are reminded of the following points to ensure a safe journey if they drive on beaches or sand dunes:

✔️Be mindful to check track and weather conditions prior to your trip.

✔️Make sure you have adequate recovery gear.

✔️Flags in dune areas are highly suggested.

✔️Remember to air down tyres in soft areas.

✔️Remember to stick to the beach limits of 40km/h (unless otherwise signed), 25km/h within 50m of another person.

Importantly there are several private land areas throughout Sand driving areas. This includes places like the Millicent Sand Buggy Club located between Beachport and Nora Creina. - Always check with local councils and consult maps prior to setting off. - Pay attention to fencing and signage. Any person found trespassing on private land may be prosecuted.

There will be additional Police presence heading into the summer season for the safety of all road and off road drivers.

This is a great initiative!

Start planning your summer costal adventure now!

Entry to some of SA’s most iconic national parks is now free, with the $13.90 per vehicle entry fee to be waived until Easter 2026.

Enjoy free access to:

▪️Coffin Bay National Park, Eyre Peninsula
▪️Lincoln National Park, Eyre Peninsula

▪️Deep Creek National Park

The $21.50 per person entry fee will also be waived at Flinders Chase National Park on Kangaroo Island, home of the iconic Remarkable Rocks, Admirals Arch and long-nosed fur seal colony.

The cost-saving measure will make it cheaper for thousands of people to head out and enjoy South Australia’s spectacular coastal scenery.

And with the warmer weather right around the corner, now is the perfect time to visit our stunning coastlines.

The initiatives are part of the State Government's Algal Bloom Summer Plan, to boost coastal recreation and support the algal bloom recovery.
