[ MUST TRY ] SIX-DISH VEGETARIAN BANQUET IN THE VALLEY

Aunty has built a vegetarian banquet that holds its own right next to the meat menus. For $62 per person the whole table shares six dishes, running from a Sichuan cucumber salad through to a five spice caramel crunch bar for dessert. The full spread can also be made vegan on request.

[ MUST VISIT ] Brisbane Has A Dessert Degustation Where Every Course Is Sweet 🍰✨

Forget dinner. Brisbane’s first dedicated dessert degustation is serving up a seven course journey designed entirely for serious sweet tooths.

Tucked inside Fortitude Valley’s historic TC Beirne Building, The Eucalyptus Room is an intimate 10 seater dining room from chef owner Andrew, located beside his acclaimed 14 seat restaurant, Perspective Dining.

Over one and a half hours, guests sit around a single expansive table for a bespoke dessert degustation, with menus changing seasonally based on ingredient availability. 🍮

Expect creations including Brand I Butter with brown butter, nashi and pickled walnut, Golden Meringue with fizzy honeycomb, white chocolate and passionfruit, plus Donut with yuzu, smoked honey, macadamia and cracking. 🍩🌰

The sweet finale includes Strawberries, Sandwich featuring lamington ice cream and beetroot, Lemonade Spider with lavender and marmalade, and Chocolate with earth, air, smoke and wind.

It is an experience made for anyone who thinks dessert should be the main event. 🍫🍓

Tucked down a side street in Fortitude Valley, Warisan is serving traditional Indonesian flavours in a funky, grungy setting filled with dim lighting, textured walls, retro furniture and arcade games.

The menu is made for sharing, with highlights including Jagung Bakur grilled corn, crispy Tahu Isu, salt and pepper chicken, Chicken Lawar Salad and Tamis KangKung EBI.

Must tries include Maranggi Beef Satay, Jimbaran style grilled snapper with sambal matah, Balinese pork belly, Surabaya style fried duck, Sumatran beef curry with 13 spices and crispy soft shell crab. 🥘

Henley’s Cocktail Bar & Kitchen brings a whimsical cinematic feel to Teneriffe, pairing a Wes Anderson inspired interior with an Asian focused food and cocktail menu. 🍸🍹

The menu features black sesame pork, fried enoki mushrooms, honey soy chicken with rice cake, gochujang chicken skewers, Coca Cola fried rice and Taiwanese knife cut noodles with crispy pork belly.

Housed inside a beautiful heritage listed church dating back to 1888, August delivers an intimate fine dining experience with the warmth of being welcomed into someone’s home.

Original stained glass windows, soaring ceilings, polished floors and crisp white linen create an elegant setting, while the former pulpit has been replaced by an open kitchen where the chef cooks in full view.

The Euro inspired menu is packed with distinctive dishes, including pickled fennel fritti, ox tongue, oysters with scallop mousseline and ch*****ne, asparagus with hazelnut and hollandaise, and confit ocean trout. 🦪

The signature Mud Crab Omelette Arnold Bennett, inspired by the classic dish created at London’s Savoy Hotel, is a must try. Larger sharing dishes include foie gras stuffed chicken crown, Barnsley lamb chop and grilled flounder with vongole and saffron butter. 🍖

Tucked into the Hardgrave Road dining precinct, Cafe Disco is a charming bar and eatery serving a unique menu inspired by the owner’s mother and grandmother’s recipes, blending Bangladeshi, Persian and Indian flavours. 🪩

The cosy historic shop features retro cafe curtains, gingham seating and warm golden lamps, creating a relaxed space where food is designed to be shared.

Must try dishes include fish rillette served with deli crisps, melon and cucumber rojak, ghee roast potato chaat, fire roasted eggplant and peppers, caraway carrots with whipped feta, and melt in the mouth lamb kofta.

Hidden behind a lit up cherry blossom tree in Burnett Lane, Hideki is an exquisite Japanese restaurant specialising in yakitori, tucked behind an all black facade next to Death & Taxes. 🍢

Inside, the intimate space combines old world charm with contemporary Japanese design, featuring Japanese artworks, gold leather banquettes, window booths and an elegant backlit bar.

The menu goes well beyond yakitori, with oysters with yuzu sorbet, kingfish usuzukuri, sashimi, Wagyu sando, popcorn prawns and Wagyu gyoza. 🥟🍣🦪
