Remembering the sacrifices of the many who have served, serving or have fallen.

Rob and Abby have marched, or been present EVERY year of their young lives in the ANZAC Day commemoration services. Year after year, dawn or day, we pay our respects on this day.

For us, it's truly important for our kids to grow up respecting our pasts (the good, the bad and also the ugly), so our kids may truly be able to appreciate their futures, opportunities and freedoms.

I know I'm not alone in this thinking. Watching all the mass of Scouts troops, Girl Guides, local schools, cadets and all the general public show up today, makes you proud to be participating in something bigger than you!

To all those service men and women currently or previously serving. Truly, THANK YOU 🤗

The Whitsundays has had a bit of a thrashing with weather lately. But dont let that put you off from visiting here one day ... it truly is PHENOMENAL!

Check out our new BOATING VIDEO in Whitehaven Bay, Queensland! Who do you think had more fun here - Joe, the drone operator, or Paul the captain (and willing brother-in-law)? Going by the squeals of delight from the back of the boat, it was possibly even the two kids!!!

This family day for us was just perfect. Days before we had had higher winds and overcast days - and than this perfect day happened with a perfect break in the weather.

Seeing the sun, all we could do is jump back in the boat and head for what I am now calling the BEST PLACE IN QUEENSLAND TO VISIT!

The clear shallow waters were filled with so much sealife. Rays, lemon sharks and fish galore. The kids were spotting them even off the shore.

The easy walk to the top of Hill Inlet was INCREDIBLE!! I'll post up the photo of the stunning swirl of the sea and shifting sands of the Inlet soon. You must see this place yourself to believe it!

WOWZERS! The Bruce Highway just south of Proserpine just now !!

We are on the road heading south from Airlie Beach . In a limited break in the rain, Joe popped the drone up to look around.

As far as the eye can see there is water surrounding the A1. In places, it's even lapping at and on the road. The pot holes are crazy... But there are wonderful road workers doing their best to get on top of them.

So much water! Our thoughts are with all North of here including the farmers who own these paddocks. Stay safe and remember if it's flooded - Forget It!

Reality of being in a flooded area. The Woolworths shelves are EMPTY in Airlie Beach (Cannonvale)! Hopefully supplies make it through to the communities here and further north. Stay safe with all the flooding. ♥♥♥

🌀🌧🌊 Whitsundays or WET-SUNDAYS??? 🌊🌧🌀

💦 A whopping 500mm of rain has fallen over the Wet-Sundays in just the past 48 hours!! This means – we’ve officially been rained out of our Island-hopping holiday! 😭😭

We made it to exploring Island #6! (Pics to come now that we're in reception)

👫 The kids were determined to hold out for as long as possible. 🙏 When the sun shone, the islands offered so many incredible walks, beautiful beaches, clear oceans and an abundance of wildlife (Rob even got bitten on the foot by a sea turtle!). BUT when it rained – wowzers did it come down! 🌩😬🌧😏🌩

The kids sure did show their resilience to things going wrong though. They spent the last few days happily playing cards in the tent, catching up on schooling and playing out in the rain (oh the childhood memories they'll have)!

One thing I am super grateful for is that our lightweight hiking tents held out in the lashing wild winds and downpours – not a single leak inside!! 🙏🙌🙏🙌 (Spinifex and Wanderer tents available from BCF - Boating, Camping, Fishing)

While our time on the islands ended early, it will give us a great chance to sift though some amazing photos! ALSO... It sure has given us some wonderful new travel ideas…!!!

When our land-based legs are done with lapping Australia, high on the cards is buying a sailing boat and navigating the world together as a family. 😲😍😃

Can you imagine what real life skills our kids will learn from exploring overseas ports and crossing open oceans together!?

It doesn't get much better than this! Crystal clear island waters, ON the high tide mark, able to from your tent and all for the price of a coffee a night! Stop the press, we've found our paradise.
