The Literacy Bridge

The Literacy Bridge Bridging the link between home/school/daycare in developing and supporting your child's literacy skills. We launched The Literacy Bridge.

We are two practising teachers, mums and friends who have a shared vision: bridging the gap between home/daycare/school. With a combined teaching experience of 50+ years, both in Australia and overseas, we have dedicated our careers to educating children. Along the way we have shared our knowledge, tips, tool kits, ideas and suggestions with parents, grandparents, carers and educators. We envisage

continuing to do this in our workshops, on our page and on our website. We hope to build a wonderful community of parents, grandparents, carers and educators who share our vision in supporting our children's literacy in the home environment.

In our 'First Five Forever' workshops in local libraries, we show you how to lay the foundations for literacy. Interacting with children through sharing books, stories, songs and nursery rhymes in the early years supports language and literacy development. It helps build a solid early language and literacy foundation to enable your child to learn to read and write in the years to follow at school.
