Something extraordinary is quietly unfolding in the wild beauty of the South Island.

Over the past week I’ve been travelling deep into the landscapes of Central Otago and beyond, following vineyard roads, stepping through the doors of historic homesteads, and sitting at tables where some of New Zealand’s most remarkable food and wine experiences are created.

There have been long conversations with winemakers, chefs and producers.
Private tastings in extraordinary places.
Meals that feel more like works of art than dinner.

And slowly… piece by piece… a luxury culinary, wine and cultural journey through the South Island is coming together.

Not the obvious places.
Not the typical itinerary.

From Sydney to the World: My Journey of Becoming 🌏

I was born under Australian skies, a Sydney girl with a restless spirit.

During my Bachelor of Education at a Sydney university, a lecturer invited my cohort to join a study trip to Portland Oregon, followed by a tour across the USA.

That trip lit the match. What began as academic curiosity became the start of a lifelong love affair with travel, culture, and connection.

From teaching in NSW - Sydney, the Central Coast and Mid-North Coast schools, to London’s classrooms, then to immersion in Italian whispers at Università per Stranieri di Perugia, I chased meaning, not milestones.

I moved to Wales and lived in the Rhondda Valley, teaching and laughing with locals who still welcome me back like family.

In my early 30’s I fell in love with a Kiwi on a night out in Sydney and followed my heart to Hamilton, New Zealand, proof that sometimes, geography is destiny in disguise.

Eventually, in Bali’s embrace, with my effervescent mum by my side, I sought soul-healing solace amid rice paddies and golden sunsets, after losing my extraordinary father.

There, between whispers of palm fronds, I poured my spirit into designing a women’s clothing line born of renewal and grace.

Each chapter taught me something about independence, artistry, and the tenderness of human connection.

Through all of it, one truth remained: I’ve never been able to stay still. The rhythm of solo travel, the joy of conversations between strangers, the quiet awe of discovering a place that changes you, it all became my oxygen.

And now, those years of exploration have evolved into something larger: curating extraordinary world tours for women and discerning private mixed groups who crave connection, authenticity, and effortless quiet luxury.

Each journey I design is stitched with the threads of those early experiences, slow travel, shared moments, soulful discovery.

Because this life? It isn’t just about seeing the world. It’s about becoming part of it.

After Decades of Solo Travel, Here’s What I Know 💃

I’ve been travelling solo since my twenties.

In 2025, I travelled to:
Las Vegas, Portland, Malta, Todi, Venice, Morocco, Gran Canaria, and Wales.

Sometimes alone with my thoughts; sometimes meeting friends I’ve collected across continents; often finding myself in conversations with strangers who become part of my story.

Solo travel isn’t a phase I outgrew. It’s woven into who I am.

But somewhere along the way, something shifted.
I stopped wanting to keep the secret to myself.

Because here’s what decades of solo exploration have taught me: the women who are drawn to this kind of travel, the ones who value depth and connection over checklists, experiences that resonate over those that simply impress, are out there navigating it alone when they don’t have to be.

Not because they can’t manage. They’re exceptionally capable.
But because no one is creating what they actually want.

What I learned that they, and I, were craving:
•The sovereignty of solo travel, without the solo logistics.
•The spontaneity without the exhausting research.
•The safety of women who instinctively look out for one another.
•The camaraderie that forms when you’re sharing something extraordinary, fully in the moment, together.

The kind of travel where someone has secured the private access, knows the local artisan whose workshop isn’t on any map, and has the relationship with the chef who’ll create something special.

I started curating these bespoke journeys because I kept meeting women like us - in a Venetian bacaro, on a coastal path in Queensland, at a winery event.

They all said the same thing:
“I wish I’d known you were doing this. I would have come.”

Here’s what happens when women travel together intentionally;

Different conversations emerge. We enjoy experiences we might not undertake alone, not because we need permission, but because collective courage is its own kind of magic. We notice things together that subtly shift how we see. We celebrate each other’s moments without diminishing our own.

Solo travel will always be part of my rhythm.

As lights twinkle and loved ones gather close, we’re reminded of what truly matters, connection, wonder, and the beautiful anticipation of what’s to come.

✨Enroute to Marrakech from the palm oasis, Skoura ✨

The winding road from Skoura to Marrakech is where Morocco’s soul truly reveals itself, and our Wings Luxe women travellers experienced every magnificent moment.

Our luxury Morocco tour for women continued as we departed the palm-fringed oasis of Skoura, journeying through the dramatic High Atlas Mountains. The route unveiled breathtaking vistas at every turn, ancient kasbahs clinging to hillsides, Berber villages dotting the landscape, and the mountain peaks standing sentinel over valleys below.

We stopped at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou, where centuries of history whispered through the earthen corridors of this fortified ksar.

Our women’s travel group in Morocco savoured mint tea with locals, capturing the golden-hued architecture that has starred in countless films.

Crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass at 7,415 feet, we witnessed panoramas that left us breathless, both from altitude and sheer beauty.

Arriving in Marrakesh

As Marrakech’s ochre walls came into view, excitement rippled through our group. This wasn’t just any accommodation, we had hand-selected an exquisite 5-star riad tucked within the medina’s historic heart. Traditional zellige tilework, carved cedar ceilings, and a serene courtyard fountain created our private sanctuary amid the city’s vibrant energy.

Our first afternoon. A decadent 2-hour traditional hammam spa and massage experience that epitomizes luxury travel in Morocco for women with Wings Luxe Travel. The ritual unfolded like ancient poetry, steam opening the pores, black soap exfoliation revealing new skin, followed by an exquisite oil massage that melted away every travel tension. This was our Morocco wellness retreat experience our guests raved about.

Exploring Marrakech’s treasures.

Over the following days, we immersed ourselves in Marrakech’s magic.

🛍️ Shopping the labyrinthine Marrakech souks, where we discovered handwoven Berber carpets, aromatic spices, and leather babouches. and

🕌 Ben Youssef Madrasa: We stood in awe beneath the 16th-century Islamic college’s staggering carved stucco and cedar, where 900 students once studied. The courtyard’s geometric perfection and calligraphic artistry offered insight into Morocco’s scholarly heritage.

🏰 Bahia Palace: The “Palace of the Beautiful” lived up to its name. Room after opulent room revealed hand-painted ceilings, tranquil gardens, and the ornate chambers of a 19th-century grand vizier’s wives and concubines, stories of Moroccan women echoing through time.

🌙 Meandering the Medina: As we wandered the ancient medina’s winding alleys, calls to prayer resonated from minarets. A luscious rooftop lunch at one of Marrakech’s chicest cafe/restaurants.

✨ We bid farewell to the majestic Sahara, journeying south through ever-changing landscapes toward Skoura.

En route, we pause in Rissini, a charming market town alive with local crafts, fragrant spices, and graceful date palms.

We wander through Kasbah Moulay Ali, a 17th-century, partially ruined yet utterly photogenic former residence of Moulay Ali Cherif, the founder of Morocco’s Alaouite dynasty, which still rules the country today.

Next, we stroll along the Todra Gorge in Tinghir, a dramatic limestone canyon where narrow paths, lush palm groves, and the gentle Todra River meet to form a striking oasis at the base of towering red cliffs.

Our journey continues along the winding ‘Road of a Thousand Kasbahs’ through the Dades Valley, an unforgettable tapestry of cliffs, gorges, and scattered ancient fortresses.

By early evening, we arrive at our spectacular ksar, nestled deep within a palm oasis in Southern Morocco. The warm evening air carries a hint of orange blossom, and tonight, the only agenda is hearty meals, heartfelt connection, and pure indulgence.

✨ Morning brings a signature ‘surprise & delight’ experience: ATV quad biking through hidden trails of the palmery, weaving between groves and forgotten paths, a breathtaking mix of freedom, adrenaline, and serenity.

🫖 A private lunch follows beneath the shade of the trees: fresh Moroccan salads, grilled meats, laughter, and friendship.

The afternoon is ours to soak in the tranquility, swimming, reading, lounging by the sparkling pool, and simply being.

From ‘Little Switzerland’ to the Sands of the Sahara ⚜️

Our journey continues as we leave our stop in the alpine charm of Ifrane, Morocco’s ‘Little Switzerland,’ where cedar forests and crisp mountain air offer a surprising pause in the landscape.

From here, we descend into an entirely different world, on the edge of the Sahara for a night of rest before our journey the next morning to the golden dunes of the Sahara Desert.

On the way, we’ll stop for an unforgettable Gnawa music immersion, feeling the rhythm and heartbeat of an ancient spiritual tradition. We’ll visit a local Berber home, and receive a warm, authentic welcome before we venture off-road in 4WDs, over rock, sand, and silence, to reach our luxury desert camp.

Here, time slows.
A cooling swim.
A moment to release and soften into stillness.
The desert has its own kind of magic. ✨

Then, as the day fades, we journey by camel, the ships of the desert, to witness a sunset beyond words.

A horizon of gold and ember, stretching endlessly across the dunes. 🌅
