Day 2

Today was a slow and easy day sailing in the morning after breakfast on our way to a small and less touristy village called Jelsa on the island of Hvar.

After lunch a swim stop in a cute little sheltered cove before docking right in the in the heart of the town. Big ships can't get to these ports. Time for exploring local beaches for more swimming as a very hot day 35 degrees! Later we hired bikes and cycled to another town called Vrboska a pleasant 5kms away. Magnificient scenery all the way.

A perfect warm balmy evening to enjoy local bars and restaurants as dinners are not included on this cruise so you can have the freedom to enjoy some local options. A great concept you don't often find with cruising.

Day 1

We travelled by coach for around 1.5 hours from Split to the gorgeous town of Sibenik to board our ship, unpack and settle in. Then off for a one hour walking tour of the town with a local guide. Such a lovely village, not so busy like Split (school holidays finish this weekend in Europe!) Colourful buildings, so much history, and so clean.

Evening welcome drinks and dinner onboard meeting our new friends, the captain and crew from around the world and we set sail in the morning. ⚓️

I'm off to Croatia very soon! I am incredibly excited to be joining Beyond Travel to explore some of the beautiful islands of Croatia on a deluxe small ship with only 38 passengers. This is a travel advisor familiarisation trip (Famil for short!) where I will connect with other industry partners, explore the region and experience the onboard hospitality. I will also be doing some research for a possible future escorted group tour!

I am looking forward to soaking up some sunshine, discovering hidden gems and taking lots of notes along the way.

Well I have had an incredibly busy July, can't believe we are now into August!

Where are people travelling to now? I am quite often asked this question.

Last month was a great mixture of bookings worldwide and some places closer to home:

* Italy has featured heavily, particularly Tuscany and touring.
* Mediterranean cruising
* Kimberley cruising
* Northern Territory touring
* Canada touring
* Croatia touring and cruising
* European river cruising
* London and Paris

Three things I always consider before recommending a cruise line or tour company.

1. Consider the pace of travel.
2. Size of group and/or ship.
3. Included experiences.

Many people choose based on price or a friend's recommendation rather than the experience that suits their preferred travel style. The right itinerary, flights, hotels and timing can transform a good holiday into an exceptional one! 🥂
