The Australasian osprey is an incredible bird of prey. It is the only raptor that can fully submerge itself in the ocean to catch its prey. Flying from heights as high as 40m the osprey dives headfirst and talon-first into the water.
Ospreys have reversible talons which a the genetic design only shared by their own species, as well as owls.
These photos were captured at Long Reef headland on Sydney‘s Northern beaches.

It was so good to be on the stand at expo held in this year.
I had come from 40°C heat which is 100°F for all y’all in the US. I thought 0-minus1 Celsius was cold and it’s now down to -16 and chaos.
Feeling grateful that I dodged a bullet with the weather both in the USA, and in Australia.

Peregrine Falcons have such stunning markings. These are juveniles from this season as they get older their tones start to darken and lose the detail.

I’m pretty stoked with these captures given how fast these guys move.

Exciting news! - very limited cabins available
ANTARCTICA + SOUTH GEORGIA PHOTO EXPEDITION 2027

Plenty of time to save (or win the lottery) in time for our March 2027 expedition to Antarctica and South Georgia.
We did this expedition back in 2020 and it was epic.

There are only a few cabins left so please hurry if you are keen. (I’m not saying this as a sales push. It’s just a very popular program)

Please send me a message if you would like the details…

season is always a magical experience. I recently ventured out with to capture the yearly lighting spectacle of the Blue Mountains firefly. This firefly is one of 26 species found in Australia.
The other two photos were taken during a recent work trip in Fiji. I added the fireflies just out of fun.

The or is a tall branching species of the family with a distinctive bark texture that produces shapes as unique as African landscapes. I took this photo on the very first photo safari that I ran in Namibia.
The people, (formerly known as the Bushmen) gave the English name as they use this tree to make quivers to hold their arrows.
When our southern Namibian itineraries we visit The quiver tree forest which is perfect for landscape photography and Astro Photography alike .

I’ve been preparing a slideshow for the Dee Why RSL Camera Club and it has been very exciting to go through this year’s expedition photos. I love this shot because I didn’t realise until I downloaded the image that the rock in the foreground was actually a Weddell Seal. 😂😂😂
I love how the seal would rather sleep than rule the rocks like a chinstrap penguin.
