With the recent rains, calm weather, and high morning tides, now is the perfect time to hit the local beaches from the boat and chase some incredible species.
November and December will often bring the first wet season rains, which can trigger the start of prawn runs along the coastline. These prawns draw a variety of fish into casting range, including Threadfin (King) Salmon, Blue Salmon, Queenfish, Trevally, Grunter and out of season Barramundi.
One of my personal favourites, the Threadfin Salmon is a stunning fish thatโs not only exciting to catch but grows to impressive sizes. They will happily take a lure or fly and if conditions remain favourable, will hang around for a few months, making them a very worthy and realistic target. I've landed them over 120 cm and they get even bigger! With the exclusion of gill nets in our area, this fishery continues to improve for the recreational fisher, promising fantastic opportunities for anglers.
Whether you prefer lures or fly fishing, our modern electronics and local knowledge help us pinpoint the best spots to target these iconic fish.
