PROSPECTOR PARK RV PARK CLOSED FOR
SEASON 3 - 2026
Going live in early September; on the 11th December our proposed RV park lease was hit with a heritage survey request.
A new condition, no’ 7 was applied to the tenement endorsement, this was imposed by DEMIRS early this year to all new lease applications accross the board via Houston Legal for Area 15/16 Coolgardie MF.
This condition is applied AFTER the lease goes live, my tenement had already been expedited prior and cleared of native title however, I’m hit this after the latter. Houston Legal stated they never received the signed RHSA which you and I know is compliance with any new tenement application before going live.
A battle is commencing, my/our story will get to the Mines Minister and beyond supported by APLA in an attempt to get this new procedure reversed in favour of YOU, the prospector!
Meanwhile, our professional prospecting RV camp, including a 9 hole disc golf course and connection to a 14km motorcross track was going to be constructed over the new year to open at Easter.
… this is now on hold!
Whilst my lease is live with POW I am not allowed to create any ground disturbance until the heritage survey is completed, I can auger the hell out of it up proving it up … that’s a bloody joke …and there is no time-line to forward events knowing when the survey will be completed by.
We have just applied for a State grant via DPLH as we cannot afford to pay for the heritage survey, I have been told to expect 12+ month delay and wait it out.
Oh, and whilst this all goes on I still have to pay rent & rates … another bloody joke!
I have no problem having to have the survey done on the lease, but I know there’s no heritage on the land as it was logged flat to start with in the 1900s being just up the road in Coolgardie to fuel the steam engines that processed gold so it should be a quick walk come survey time.
In the meantime, myself & Lesley are in the process of setting up a temporary camp just up North Coolgardie Road regularly visiting the region, time to have some fun and go find our own gold instead of giving it all to our clients, plus I’m going to focus a little more energy into my safari travel business being it’s 10th trading year anniversary for 2026.
Will 2027 see Prospector Park re-opening?
… yes, once this issue is put to bed!
