🍾🧀 Winter on King Island looks a little different…

While the platypus are keeping warm in the creeks, we’re out in the bush getting ready for the season ahead. These new tables have been handcrafted from recycled timber and locally sourced logs, creating the perfect spot to sit back, enjoy a glass of King Island Sparkling Cloud Juice, sample some local cheeses, and keep watch for one of our elusive platypus.

Winter is our time for building, maintaining and improving the little things that help create memorable experiences. By the time our guests arrive, these peaceful creekside nooks will be ready for Tassie wines, King Island cheeses, great company and a little wildlife magic.

🚂🦔 The Echidna Train has arrived!

Earlier we spotted not one, not two, but three fat echidnas crossing the road in convoy before disappearing into the bush together.

We’re not sure where they were headed, but they seemed to have a plan… and they certainly weren’t in a hurry!

Moments like this are why we love King Island. ❤️

Walk in the footsteps of history on King Island.

On 14 July 1866, the ship Netherby was wrecked on this wild and rugged coastline. Today, the story lives on through the dramatic scenery, the sea, the rocks, and the remarkable tale of survival that followed.

Join us as we retrace part of this incredible journey along one of King Island’s most powerful historic landscapes.

Farewell 2025 in the most unforgettable way.
Watch the final sunset of the year from the top of Currie Lighthouse, where land, sea and sky come together.
Will the sunset look exactly like these photos?
We can’t promise the sky — nature always has the final say — but the view from the lighthouse is unforgettable whatever the evening brings.
As daylight fades, we’ll descend the lighthouse and toast the year that was with a celebratory glass of bubbles. 🥂

🌿 Farm • River • Coast Tour 🌊

A perfect day out exploring the heart of King Island!

🐄 First stop — the pristine Raff Angus Farm, where guests heard from expert farmer Andrew Raff about how premium grass-fed beef is raised right here on King Island.

🦦 Next, the group ventured to a quiet river bend and were lucky enough to spot the elusive platypus in its natural habitat.

🍽️ The experience finished with a delicious bbq of grass-fed King Island beef, followed by a magical evening watching the little penguins waddle ashore to feed their chicks under the setting sun.

A true taste of King Island — from farm to river to coast. 💚

🌪️ Storms, Sunset & Strength — Currie Lighthouse Still Standing Proud 🌅

Yesterday, King Island was hit with wild winds, gusting up to 125–130 km/h on the coast. 🌬️
But even as the seas roared and spray whipped across the coast, our Currie Lighthouse stood firm. Just as it has for 145 years. 💪

As the storm broke, the clouds split open to reveal a brilliant orange sunset glowing through the sea haze. A reminder that wild weather brings its own kind of beauty.

Visitors on our Lighthouse Tour experienced nature in full force — towering waves, salty air, and the thrill of standing at the top of a lighthouse that has guided sailors since the 1800s. 🌊✨

King Island never fails to amaze.
