With the flashing installation complete, we were able to remove some of the jacks and construct new brick piers 🧱- a crucial step in restoring strength and stability to the wall. Next step is to complete the rest of the brickwork to close up the cavity, seamlessly blending new with old to ensure both structural integrity and a clean, consistent finish.

Our team has been busy replacing failed cavity flashings on this apartment building at Cammeray. To carry out the works safely and effectively, brickwork was carefully supported using cavity jacks, allowing us to remove the original bricks and access the cavity 🧱. Once exposed we cleaned and prepared the areas before applying a new PVC waterproofing membrane across the four levels. This process ensures long-term waterproofing performance and protects the internal structure from future water ingress. Remedial expertise and quality waterproofing solutions delivered safely and efficiently.

Installation of scaffold to this 8 storey apartment building in Cammeray providing full height access for critical remedial works. Balcony prepped and protected - we have applied the screed to achieve the required falls for drainage. This layer is crucial for directing water away from the building and preventing pooling 💧. Once the screed was cured and clean 🧽 , we applied an epoxy primer to promote strong adhesion of the membrane and seal the surface. The epoxy is applied in multiple coats for a seamless, durable finish. A professionally waterproofed balcony ready for tiling and built to last !

Waterproofing in Progress 💧- This week our team has been busy installing a PVC sheet membrane system- an essential component in long-term moisture protection. PVC membranes are a fantastic choice for areas exposed to consistent water ingress. They’re highly durable, UV resistant and designed to provide a long-lasting waterproofing solution for these outdoor surfaces.
Our focus during this install was on:
✅ Proper substrate preparation
✅ Clean welds at all joints and laps
✅ Full adherence to manufacturer specs

We’re at a critical stage in our remediation project where attention to detail is everything! Here you will see our team preparing the balcony cavity flashings and sill flashings in anticipation of applying Ardex WPM 1000, a high- performance membrane designed for long-term protection

Project update- one detail at a time. Instead of the traditional tile edge detail, we’ve formed a specific hob detail around the entire perimeter of this balcony. Why? Because tile edge details can trap moisture and increase the risk of efflorescence. After forming the hob, we thoroughly buffed the whole balcony surface to ensure it’s clean, smooth and ready for the next stage of preparation before waterproofing begins. It’s all about the right details, done right from the start 👌

We’ve kicked off the remediation of this apartment balcony in Naremburn with the demolition now complete - ready for the next steps ⚒️. To ensure safe and efficient access, scaffolding has been installed around the balcony, setting the stage for the transformation ahead. Preparation also underway for new waterproofing, new tiling and new sleek aluminium sliding doors to give this space a fresh and durable finish. 👷🏻‍♂️🔨.
