🌿 THE LAST WEEKEND OF WINTER IN GULGONG

The forecast is lovely, so why not get out and enjoy a slow weekend in our beautiful little town?

Spend a few hours exploring the Gulgong Pioneers Museum or the Holtermann Museum and rediscover just how extraordinary Gulgong's gold-rush history is.

📚 Discover Henry Lawson
Visit the Henry Lawson Centre on Mayne Street and learn more about one of Australia's best-known writers and his connection to our district.

🎭 Spot a piece of living history
Take a wander past the Prince of Wales Opera House — built in 1871 and one of Gulgong's great surviving gold-rush landmarks.

👣 Walk the Symbol Trail
Slow down and look a little closer. Follow Gulgong's historic symbols through our narrow streets and laneways and discover some of the stories hiding in plain sight.

☕ Make a morning of it
Grab a coffee or breakfast at Silver Fox Cafe Gulgong or Beryl's Cafe, then wander the shops and heritage streets.

🌄 See Gulgong from above
Pack a thermos and head up to Flirtation Hill Lookout for views across town and the surrounding countryside.

📢 GULGONG RODEO – IMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION & HOUSE RULES 🤠

Due to the outstanding number of competitor entries, we’ve made a slight adjustment to the day’s schedule to ensure all events can be completed.

🕙 Updated Event Times
• Gates Open: 10:00 am
• Slack Events Commence: 10:00 am
• Main Rodeo Event: 2:00 pm

🚗 Parking
Designated parking areas will be available for both the general public and competitors. Please follow the directions of our parking attendants.
No parking is permitted around the rodeo arena to ensure emergency vehicle access and the safety of competitors, livestock and patrons.

🪑 Picnic Area
A designated Picnic Blanket Area will be available for families and groups.
Please bring your picnic blanket and folding chairs and enjoy a great day of rodeo entertainment.

💳 Payments
The entry gate, licensed bar and all vendors will accept both cash and EFTPOS/card payments.
Cash is the preferred method of payment at the entry gate, licensed bar and all vendors to help keep service fast and reduce waiting times throughout the day.

🍻 Responsible Service of Alcohol
Our licensed bar will operate in accordance with the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) requirements.
Please drink responsibly and help us maintain a safe, family-friendly event.
The bar will remain open until 10:30 pm.

🎧 Live Entertainment

It's a huge football weekend! 🏉 All eyes are on the big NRL game at Glen Willow, a big shout-out to the Penrith Panthers, who are visiting Gulgong Public School this week!
Gulgong Terriers head to Coonamble for their final game of the season, while the Mudgee Wombats take over Billy Dunn Oval for a full day of rugby.

Not into football? 🎨 Belinda from Karralika Studio still has a few last-minute places available in this weekend's creative workshops.
