We hope you are all well and keeping warm this winter in Australia - maybe you are under one of your own quilts!
You’ve probably been hearing about the difficulty people from all age groups are facing with cost-of-living increases. It is a particularly tough time for many, who are cutting back on spending on everything, including groceries.
We’re hoping that this time of privation is temporary, and that things will get back to normal in the near future. In the meantime, here are a few thoughts you may like to consider:
Keep buying that coffee when are you out and about. That little cafe depends on you to keep going, to pay wages, rent and overheads. Maybe you won’t buy the extra-large flat white and a cake as well, but still buy the smaller coffee. It matters, truly.
By all means, cut back a little on your craft buying. However, consider buying from Australian stores, rather than mail-order from overseas ones, even if the price is a little more. You will be keeping Australians in jobs.
Where possible, consider the ‘little guy’ selling fruit and veg, rather than always spending at the big stores. If his business folds, there won’t be anything left but the biggest ones. His produce is more likely to be locally sourced, too.
Above all, stay happy. You are a creative person, so continue to enjoy what you do as it brings so much joy to your family and friends.
From KoolKat, we are eternally grateful to all our customers for your continued support. Please feel free to share your thoughts with us - we’d love to hear from you! Is there anything you’d like to ask us to talk more about? Until next time, take care and keep quilting! PS - have to love the way our cat manages to get in every photo!
