Day 9 of the paragliding tow safari in far north Queensland! πŸͺ‚πŸ¦˜
And the final day landing at karumba!
With the winds looking cross on the runway our crew didn't give up hope! We started to head towards Karumba looking for a road to take off from. Amazingly we found a salt pan that was -1 meters under sea level that was just off a road to tow from! Gavin was the first to take off and found a slow climb with Mark and Tess following behind! With Tess and Gavin within a 5km glide of the Sunset Tavern, Karumba the sea breeze came in and killed their glide landing 3km short.
After a quick retrieve we all went to the sunset tavern to celebrate an end to our amazing trip from east to west Coast of far north Queensland. Watching the sunset on the west coast.πŸŒ… We couldn't have asked for a better crew to start the first safari with. and we can't wait to do it again next year!

Day 6 of the far north Queensland tow safari πŸͺ‚πŸ¦˜
Unfortunately in paragliding we all get the days where it becomes unflyable. With a strong easterly in the morning and protection to last the day the crew decided to skip the task from Einasleigh and push on to Croydon as the conditions looked favorable the next day.
Along our drive we stopped in George town and had a look at the air field. Where we found huge metal detectors that are lifted up by helicopters to search Hectares of land for mineral deposits.
Once we arrived at Croydon in the afternoon we decided to relax in the shade watching the sunset πŸŒ„

Day 5 of the North Queensland Tow Safari 🦘πŸͺ‚
We started the morning with a few tows at the Einasleigh airfield, before it blew out for the day. So the crew decided to check out the town and went to the local pub, followed by a walk and swim at Copperfield Gorge river, on a hot 31 degree day. Nir, Kyle and Gavin decided to go up for an afternoon ridge soar off the local lookout at Red rock hill and fly back to the Einasleigh Pub with the locals watching them come in.

Day 4 of the far north Queensland tow safari 🦘πŸͺ‚
Starting off at Greenvale airstrip. Mark, Kyle and Gavin got a thermal on the first tow and ended up landing at the pub down the road. A bit of pub suck! After a quick refreshment 🍻 they all went back to the airstrip to give it another crack!
Mark and Gavin found another thermal and took off mark decided to land at the pub for another refreshment. And Gavin continued on landing at 25km
Gavin "The road was the only place to land, everything went well till a road train caught up with me, I flew over the verge and he passed me at 80 km and 2 m away, but the best landing of the safari."
We continued the drive to Einasleigh setting up camp in the sunset and had a beer at the only pub in town!
