Like so many small local businesses, we had a break and enter last night. 🥲 A dude with balaclava and gloves drove in, checked out the shops, and used a nearby paver to smash our door. He looked for cash but of course we don’t hold cash nor do we even have much cash! But we’re left with the hefty bill to replace the smashed glass door.
We just want to say 🙏🏼 thank you to the qldpolice for their care and dedication to serving our community.

We had the pleasure of attending the launch of the Hervey Bay Regional Gallery's latest exhibition called "Finding Eliza". It was fabulous to hear directly from Professor Larissa Behrendt the author of Finding Eliza: Power and Colonial Storytelling (2016) and renowned Badtjala/Butchulla artist Dr Fiona Foley. The exhibition revisits the story of Eliza Fraser, not to retell her account, but to examine how her version of events was elevated, amplified, and mythologised within colonial culture. At its heart, the "Finding Eliza" exhibition recentres Butchulla history, presence, and truth-telling.
The exhibit runs from 30 May to 16 August 2026 at the Hervey Bay Regional Gallery.
