The first box has been sent out to those that ordered and there’s another few boxes worth about to be popping up in shops around Lutruwita.

I was on ABC radio with Helen Shield last night talking about the launch of the Tunapri Lutruwita map.

It’s an illustrated map of Palawa Kani place names across Lutruwita / Tasmania.

As with everything I do, I made this map because it’s something that I wanted to have and to see in the world. It’s something very close to my heart, that I can’t wait to have in my home for my family.

It was developed over two years it is the result of a collaboration between myself and graphic novelist Joshua Santospirito

The map has hundreds of true names for Country – landscapes, rivers and mountains, alongside beautifully illustrated landscapes, flora, fauna and cultural resources that Josh has put a lot of time and care into.

Proud work moment.

I was absolutely honoured a few years ago to be contracted by Aboriginal Land Council of Tasmania to share the story of Wybalenna.
It felt like a huge honour and responsibility to be given the task of story-telling such an important place for all our people.

It was so important to me to have it about our people - to tell the history of that place through lives of our ancestors and our community today.

This was my first time writing a whole exhibition/physical interpretation so to to have my writing and chosen images installed at the chapel and see and hear the community feedback means the world for me.

I am so proud to have contributed and be part of having our story told on our own terms.

A big shout out to Bec, Steph and now Sarah for their work on this and for trusting me with this story. And thanks to the community who shared their views and their opinion on all the drafts.

Very special to have spent a windy few days over on Flinders Island. I was there working with Aboriginal land council in their efforts with Truth telling at wybalenna - a very significant site for all Tasmanian Aboriginal people and a place with a story that everyone should know

“I was fortunate enough to do the Kunanyi walking tour today and wanted to thank our host/leader Nunami for an amazing morning of walking at one with nature, connecting us to the Palawa traditional owners and their connection to Kunanyi and the land. Nunami even brought some of her amazing indigenous plant tea and biscuits, a lovely touch on a rainy, misty cold day. This was a special walk 😊” - Anjela

On Saturday we got to deliver delivered the new Kunanyi connection tour to a lovely little group of both locals and visitors.

The mountain was magical and misty and we had a really connective and special experience.

Thanks to all the guests for coming, looking forward to sharing more kind feedback.

Tomorrow night! I’m honoured and excited to be able to launch the wonderful new graphic novel created by my friend . It is a really beautiful piece of work that all will enjoy. I am looking forward to seeing the exhibition of the works and performance to go along with tomorrow night. Come check it out 6pm (swipe for details).
