Last year in London ๐ We travelled for more than 30 hours before arriving in the middle of the afternoon. I always stay awake until it's night time in the countries I travel to. It doesn't matter what time I arrive, I do it so I can get into a good sleeping pattern ASAP. So after checking in to our hotel and having a shower we dragged ourselves outside and resisted the urge to close our eyes. Our first stop was The Windmill Mayfair for some gin and tonics, beer, scotch eggs, pie, a pork, pickle and carb loaded platter and a sticky toffee pudding ๐ That was my first taste of London ๐ฅฐ It was my first time to the United Kingdom and London was the gateway to an incredible 4 weeks travelling in Europe. What a trip it was ๐ We were planning to return to Europe this year but we're lucky to have so many overseas memories until we can make new ones.
2020 has been a year of mixed emotions but finding a silver lining in every situation has helped me get through. It's hard to get excited or be happy about things. I'm thinking of everyone around the world who is struggling and who is in lockdown because of COVID-19 and sending all the strength and good vibes to you. I wonder how many of the businesses we've visited around the world will still be open when this is all over? What a privilege it is to have the freedom to travel... Are you missing exploring the amazing world and experiencing new cultures as much as I am? Travelling the world changes you. It makes you more empathetic, it teaches you so many lessons, it opens your eyes and your mind, it gives you strength and resilience and so much more. What does travelling mean to you?
