We had a fantastic evening last night at the Women In Tourism event which was held at the The Tea Equation in Launceston.

At The Tea Equation, they believe the perfect cup is more than ingredients—it's a reflection of who you are. Using carefully selected Tasmanian botanicals, premium tea leaves, and thoughtfully balanced flavours, every blend tells a story rooted in ritual, connection, and place.

Tea + Intention + Creativity = Your Signature Blend

Start with a base.
Add botanicals that inspire you.
Balance flavour, aroma, and purpose.
Then create something uniquely yours.

Whether you're drawn to calming florals, vibrant citrus notes, or rich warming spices, the possibilities are endless. The best blends aren't the most complicated—they're the most meaningful.

What's in your tea equation?

🍃 Crafted in Tasmania
🍃 Inspired by nature
🍃 Designed for mindful moments

Located at 49 Meander Valley Road, Prospect, just outside Launceston, The Tea Equation blends and packs its teas in Tasmania using local ingredients where possible.

The peacocks are one of the signature attractions at Cataract Gorge. They roam freely around the Victorian-style Cliff Grounds and gardens, often wandering near the lawns, rotunda, café areas, and walking paths. Visitors regularly spot them perched in trees or displaying their tail feathers.

The Gorge has kept peacocks as part of the reserve’s atmosphere for decades, alongside local wildlife like wallabies and pademelons. They’re especially active in the quieter morning and late afternoon periods.

Entrance Island Lighthouse stands at the narrow entrance to Macquarie Harbour on Tasmania’s rugged west coast, beside the dangerous channel known as Hell’s Gates. Built in 1891, the small white timber lighthouse was constructed to guide ships through the shifting sandbars and fierce tidal currents entering the harbour.

The lighthouse works together with Bonnet Island Lighthouse to mark the harbour entrance. Increased mining traffic from Zeehan during the 1890s led to major navigation improvements, including the construction of both lights and harbour breakwaters.

The channel became known as “Hell’s Gates,” a name linked to convicts transported to the brutal penal settlement on Sarah Island. The waters remain famous for heavy swells, strong tidal surges, and hazardous navigation.

Today, the lighthouse is one of Tasmania’s most photographed maritime landmarks and is usually viewed from harbour cruises departing from Strahan
