MVIC ATTHE MALENY LIBRARY
In our quest for more information about the offerings of our lovely community last week, MVIC Volunteers enjoyed a very informative session conducted by Maleny Library’s most knowledgeable Verina. It is impossible to think in ‘one breath’ of the multitude of services provided, mostly free, by Sunshine Coast Libraries, and in our case, Maleny Library. For example: traditional books, ebooks, audiobooks, tech sessions, preservation stations to digitise your ‘old’ media, genealogy and ancestry sites, a seed library and events to name some. Many services are online and the library can come to you if you are physically unable to go there. Set in southern Italy, the villagers are anticipating the arrival of a travelling group, who will perform the play ‘Pagliacci’ – (or the Clown).

The Maleny Singers, in collaboration with the Inspiration Project Choir, bring the dramatic and darkly comic opera Pagliacci to the stage this June. Set in the mountains, this bold production explores themes of love, betrayal, and performance, with standout performances by Vanessa West as Columbine and Rod Johnson as Harlequin.

Maleny Visitor Information Centre thanks Lyn Burgess for her amazing contribution to our community. A well deserved recognition.

We’re celebrating the remarkable individuals who make our community shine with their dedication, kindness and hard work!

This week, we proudly honour Lynda Burgess, the President of Maleny Show Society.

Having been a member of the Maleny Show Society for over 20 years now and stepping into the role of President, Lynda shows her love and dedication to her community through the countless hours of hard work she has poured into making community events the outstanding successes they are. Lynda was also the 2020 Zonta Woman of Achievement and has been involved with the Witta Recreational Club, the Maleny Hospital Auxiliary, Maleny Senior Citizens and Muscle on the Mountain.

Thank you, Lynda, for your contribution to making Glass House truly great!
