This week, the children were simply given a box of acorns and the freedom to imagine, create, and think for themselves. 🌿✨
Without step-by-step instructions, the children explored their own ideas, worked together, and transformed the acorns into beautiful little wreaths. They carefully painted each acorn in bright colours and then came up with the wonderful idea of placing photos of themselves in the centre to make them even more personal and meaningful. ❤️
Experiences like this remind us how important it is to allow children the space to be creative thinkers, problem-solvers, and decision-makers. When children are given open-ended materials instead of a “right way” to create, their imagination shines. They learn confidence in their own ideas, develop independence, and discover that their creativity has value.🌰🎨🖌️

✨ A very special addition to our daycare space ✨
One of our beautiful daycare parents lovingly handcrafted this incredible natural wooden treehouse for the children to explore and enjoy… and we are absolutely in awe! 🌿🤎
Made with such care, creativity and attention to detail, this magical piece has already sparked so much imaginative play, storytelling and wonder amongst the children. From tiny adventures up the stairs to cozy little play spaces, it invites creativity, connection and open-ended learning in the most beautiful way.
We feel so blessed to have such thoughtful and talented families as part of our daycare community. Thank you for sharing your time, heart and creativity with our children — it truly means so much. 💛
The children have not stopped talking about their “fairy treehouse”! ✨🌳🧚

This Mother's Day our little creators poured so much love into making special Mother’s Day gifts for their mums. 💐💖
The children carefully decorated their own flower pots with bright colours, flowers, butterflies and cheerful little birds before planting beautiful flowers inside. They also created precious handprint cards — tiny hands that hold such big love. 🖐️🌸
Through experiences like these, the children explored creativity, fine motor skills and self-expression, while learning the joy of giving to someone special. The excitement and pride on their faces as they prepared their gifts was truly heartwarming.
We hope all our beautiful mums feel so loved and appreciated this Mother’s Day. Thank you for all that you do each and every day. 💕

There is something truly special about the magic that happens when families and educators come together 💛

One of our beautiful daycare families lovingly handcrafted these stunning crowns for each of our children. Every detail — from the soft fabric to the delicate lace — reflects such care, time, and generosity. It’s a gift that goes far beyond the crown itself.

Inspired by the gentle poem we shared together, the children placed their crowns upon their heads and set off on a quiet, wonder-filled adventure:

“Place your crown upon your head,Walk where quiet paths are led.Feather, leaf, or petal small,There is wonder in them all…”

With baskets in hand and curious eyes, the children explored, gathering little treasures from nature — bright petals, soft leaves, and tiny discoveries that each told a story. These simple moments encouraged mindfulness, imagination, and a deep appreciation for the beauty around them.

“Each small find along your way,Tells the tale of your day.”

This experience was more than just an activity — it was a beautiful reflection of community, connection, and shared love for our children. We are so grateful for families who bring such warmth and creativity into our daycare 🌿✨

This past fortnight at Naomi’s Family Day Care, our little learners have been on a beautiful journey exploring the vibrant culture of India 🇮🇳✨
The children were immersed in a rich sensory experience — discovering the warm, aromatic smells of Indian spices, moving their bodies to lively traditional music, and dressing up in colourful Indian-inspired clothing. They expressed their creativity through bright and detailed Indian art, embracing the patterns and colours that make the culture so unique.
To finish off our special week, we celebrated the joyful spirit of Holi with our very own Colour Fun Run! The children had an absolute blast laughing, running, and tossing vibrant coloured powders, just like in the traditional festival of colours.
It was a fortnight full of joy, learning, and beautiful cultural appreciation 🌈💛

These photos show meaningful, play-based learning at Naomi’s Family Day Care, where children are developing key skills through hands-on experiences.
By creating and tracing their names, children are building early literacy, letter recognition, and a sense of identity, while strengthening fine motor skills. The counting and matching activities support early numeracy, helping children understand numbers, quantities, and problem-solving.
Creative and sensory play encourages imagination, self-expression, and coordination. Across all experiences, children are growing in confidence, independence, and social skills in a supportive and engaging environment.

What a beautiful example of creativity and independence! 🌊✨
This stunning artwork was completely imagined and created by an 8-year-old homeschooler, bringing her own ideas to life from start to finish. From painting the ocean, sand and grassy hills, to carefully placing the cotton clouds in the sky, every detail reflects her imagination at work. She thoughtfully added a mermaid, coloured her tail bright yellow, and decorated the scene with flowers and hearts to make it uniquely hers.
Creating art like this encourages confidence, problem-solving and creative thinking. She planned her layout, experimented with materials, and made her own design choices — all wonderful skills that homeschooling nurtures so beautifully. It’s so special to see a child express her ideas so freely and proudly through art. What a magical masterpiece! 🧜‍♀️💛🎨

At Naomi’s Family Day Care, we spend most of our days outside enjoying the sunshine, fresh air and freedom to play 🌞🌳 Our outdoor space is where children run, explore, create, imagine and learn through hands-on, nature-based play. From water play and messy fun to quiet moments in the shade, the outdoors is our happy place 💦🎨
Even our quiet and rest times are often enjoyed outside, where children relax on the trampoline or cosy mats while listening to calming audio stories 🎧📖 This gentle outdoor rest time helps children unwind, regulate their emotions and recharge their bodies and minds 😌💚
Spending so much time outdoors supports children’s physical health by building strength, coordination and confidence, while also boosting immunity 🤸‍♀️💪 Just as importantly, fresh air and nature have incredible benefits for mental health—helping children feel calm, happy and connected 🌿🧠✨
We truly believe that outdoor play and outdoor rest nurture resilient, joyful and confident children who feel safe, grounded and free to be themselves 🌈🌸
