Welcome to the Travertines of Pamukkale, Turkey 🇹🇷

These stunning white terraces are formed by thermal waters rich in minerals. Over time, calcium deposits create sparkling turquoise pools.

These pools are known for their beauty and therapeutic properties, attracting visitors from around the world.

The Travertines are also located near the ancient ruins of Hierapolis. Hierapolis was an ancient thermal spa city in the 2nd century BCE and the ruins are home to well preserved structures including a grand Roman theater, a temple of Apollo, and a basilica.

So much history and beauty surrounds these Travertines. Turkey is truly such an intriguing country to visit and home to many natural wonders.

Let me be the first to introduce you to Mount Roraima! ⛰️

Mount Roraima is located on the border between Venezuela, Brazil, and Guyana (crazy, I know!) in South America. It is one of the most famous and visually striking tepuis in the region.

For those of you who don’t know, tepuis are flat-topped mountains, also known as ‘islands in the sky’ as the top is often shrouded in mist. The flat summit is isolated from surrounding terrain, making its biodiversity ‘up in the sky’ truly unique with plant and animal species found nowhere else on earth.

The most common access point is Venezuela. Who would travel to Venezuela just to see this beauty of a thing? Me. Definitely me.

If this isn’t one of the coolest places on earth, it’s hard to imagine what could be.

This incredible park is famous for its towering sandstone pillars, which for all you Avatar fans out there, inspired the floating mountains in the movie. This park covers approximately 11,900 hectares and features an EXTRAORDINARY landscape of more than 3,000 vertical stone peaks, ravines, deep valleys, and lush forests.
