Important Update Regarding Regional Express Operations
Unfortunately, we have been informed in the last hour that Regional Express Holdings Pty Ltd (Regional Express or Rex) has entered voluntary administration. Our thoughts are with Regional Express employees and customers who have been impacted by this news.
Additionally all Regional Express intercity services operated by Boeing 737 aircraft have been cancelled and will no longer operate as scheduled. At this stage Rex’s regional network will continue to operate as scheduled.
In line with our policies and procedures and to protect our customers. We are initiating an immediate cease sale of ALL Regional Express (ZL) tickets as of 10pm AEST on Tuesday the 30th of July. A large majority of Rex routes are serviced by other airlines and we will work with you to find alternative services for new bookings.
For customers holding Regional Express tickets on the intercity jet network, unfortunately your booking has been cancelled and we are investigating options to get you to your destination with minimal disruption to your plans. This will involve moving you services operated by Virgin Australia. As soon as we confirm details of your new travel plans your itinerary will be updated and sent to you.
If you are a current client of ours holding Regional Express tickets issued directly by the airline and would like our assistance rebooking to Virgin Australia services, please email a copy of your ticket to [email protected] and we will do our best to assist you.
If you are travelling in the next 48 hours please call us on 1300 308 385 (Option 1) or send us a message in the Umapped app for immediate support.

We have been made aware that Regional Express Airlines have temporarily stopped the sale of flights on their domestic jet network (flights operated by the Boeing 737). There appears to be no impact to other airlines or Rex’s regional network at this stage. If you have imminent travel requirements we can assist with bookings on Qantas, Virgin Australia and Jetstar on routes flown by Rex.

We are aware of the temporary suspension of Bonza flights. While we have not sold Bonza flights directly to our customers, we recognise that some of you may have made independent arrangements directly with the airline and we would like to support you where possible.
Jetstar, Qantas and Virgin Australia are providing support to any passengers stranded mid-journey by offering complimentary seats on flights to the airport nearest to their final planned Bonza destination.
For those at an airport please approach the nearest airline customer service desk representative or contact the airline’s contact centres on the following numbers:
If you require assistance with re-arranging future travel plans please feel free to contact us on 1300 308 285 and we will do what we can to help!
