Andrew’s Biography
Andrew is a qualified and experienced remedial massage therapist with 4 years experience and special interest in the use of remedial and deep tissue massage to treat postural dysfunctions as a result of work, sport, stress and health related illnesses whilst also holding down roles as a part time personal trainer at Step into Life in Kew. In Andrew’s four years as a massage the
rapist he has helped provide treatment to a number of Australian and International distance runners, cyclists and tri athletes. This includes ongoing treatment to aid in training, performance and injury prevention, as well as assisting their preparation for events including Olympics, World Championships and Commonwealth Games. On a more personal sporting note, Andrew comes from a running background, having competed as an elite distance runner for 10 years. Andrew represented Australia on a number of occasions as a junior at the Youth Olympics and as a senior athlete in the Chiba Ekiden in Japan. His interest in massage started whilst training at the Australian Institute of Sport where he learnt self-massage and some other basic massage techniques. From there he went on to become a personal trainer furthering his interest and knowledge of the how the body works. Andrew currently is a goalkeeper for Camberwell hockey club, and running coach and no doubt the personal experiences are an invaluable part of his advise and management of athletes and anyone considering endurance events, achieving energy and vitality and performing at the highest level in sport or optimal level of health to your life.
