Roll call, Berrima goal, April 1916.

By 1918, the number of German internees had grown from around 90 to close to 300—most were officers from German merchant steamers caught in Australian ports at the outbreak of war, along with officers from the SMS Emden, a light cruiser sunk by the HMAS Sydney off the Cocos Island in 1914.

Okay, okay… if the truth be known, National Walking Day’s an American thing. (International Walking Day is the first Sunday in October.)

Sponsored by the American Heart Association, NWD encourages Americans of all ages to get out and stretch their legs and get their hearts pumping. But there’s no tariff stopping us from extending NWD to Australia, right?

So, why not make today the day you book a walk with us? We’d love to show you and your group around our beautiful village.

Send us a DM or email [email protected].
