On September 22, 2025, a Partial Solar Eclipse will occur and will be visible from the most eastern part of Australia!
From Sydney and the East Coast, the Partial Solar Eclipse will occur around 5:47 am AEST for about 6 minutes. In this case, the Moon only covers a teeny tiny part of the Sun (1%), so it will have almost no effect on the Sun’s brightness.
Nevertheless, if you are spotting the eclipse, you will notice that a small piece of the Sun has been bitten off!
Remember to never look at Sun directly, you will not see the eclipse and you could damage your eyes seriously. Instead, secure “eclipse glasses” or use a welding mask with a shade of 12 or higher.
On other occasions, when a Solar eclipse occurs, the Moon can cover up to 100% of the Sun’s disk and turn the world into darkness for a few minutes. It is called a Total Solar Eclipse.
