🌍 Dreaming of a European escape? If you’re heading there from 12 October, there’s a little change you’ll want to know about.

✈️ The new European Entry/Exit System (EES) will apply to all non-EU nationals – including Australians – travelling in or out of the Schengen area.

🛂 You may see longer border queues, and for short stays you might be asked to have your fingerprints and photo taken when entering or leaving.

✨ My tip: plan a little extra time at the airport so you can breeze through and start enjoying that holiday glow as soon as possible.

A powerful 8.6 magnitude earthquake has struck 60km off Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula, triggering a Pacific-wide tsunami warning.

Travel Update ✈️🌍 From Lisa at TravelManagers

With everything going on in the Middle East right now, I completely understand if you’re feeling a little unsure about your upcoming travel plans—especially if you’re flying to or via the region.

Here’s where things stand:

🔹 The Australian Travel Industry Association is encouraging travellers not to cancel unless absolutely necessary—doing so voluntarily may affect your rights to refunds or rebooking options.

🔹 Some airlines are making short-term changes to their routes. For example, Qatar Airways briefly suspended flights but resumed services just hours later.

🔹 Rerouting flights around closed airspace is something airlines are experienced with—it’s been happening around Russia and Ukraine for years. Rest assured, carriers operating in and out of Australia follow some of the highest safety standards in the world.

If you’re due to travel in the next 72 hours, I’ll be in touch directly with any relevant updates. If your trip is further out, there’s no need to take any action just yet—I’ve got my eye on things and will let you know if anything changes.

✈️ Bali Flight Update – Please Read

For anyone flying to or from Bali – just a quick heads-up:

Mount Lewotobi in Indonesia has erupted, and authorities have raised the alert to the highest level. Ash has reached over 11km into the atmosphere and is drifting close to Flores Island.

As a result, Jetstar has cancelled several early morning flights between Australia and Bali for Wednesday 18 June. Affected passengers are being contacted directly.

If you’re due to travel soon, please check your airline’s website before heading to the airport. I’ll continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated with any changes.
