An absolute beauty of a cat. This 2.5 year old female leopard has reached maturity and is looking for a male to mate with so that this incredible DNA and good looks can continue its lineage, I’m no leopard, but if I was, she would be my type.

Today was very, very special.

Out with the vets and conservation team at Marataba Private Game Reserve, assisting with rhino research in the field.

Helicopters overhead, a precise darting process, and then the privilege of being part of something that truly matters — fitting tracking collars, inserting microchips, collecting blood samples, all to better understand and protect these extraordinary animals.

What made this even more powerful… she still had her full horn, alongside her calf. A rare and deeply moving sight.

The team involved us every step of the way. To be that close — to touch, to feel, to simply exist in the presence of a rhino — is something I’ll carry with me for a long time.

Animal welfare was, of course, always the priority. The vets monitored them closely throughout, ensuring everything was handled with care before gently waking them from sedation.

Back in my happiest place, where I feel most like me… this is the bush, this is home 🖤

A couple of extraordinary days in Thornybush Game Reserve 🖤

Watching it all unfold in real time… a leopard chased up a tree by denning wild dogs, lions stretched out in the heat, elephants passing by with zero urgency, buffalo keeping a watchful eye, rhino quietly doing their thing… even four mont old bay rhino 🥹even the spiders reminding you that you are very much a guest here — the golden orb webs everywhere catching the light.

The rhythm of the bush, completely unscripted, completely real. I come back here to connect to nature… and somehow always end up reconnecting with myself, closer to the version of me that feels the most true 🖤

Arriving at my beautiful home in the bush… and truly, no photo could ever do this place justice 💗

This is my “tent” at Masiya Camp in Thornybush and I am completely, utterly obsessed. The colours, the textures, the way it all comes together against the wild backdrop of the bush… it’s vibrant, it’s joyful, and it instantly lifts something in you the moment you walk in.

There is something so special about a place that feels so deeply connected to its surroundings, yet full of personality and soul.

And then there’s the luxury… quietly done, never over the top. Just six tents in total, which means it feels incredibly personal, intimate, and considered in every way.

It has very quickly taken a top spot on my favourite places list… and I don’t say that lightly ✨

There are places I just keep coming back to… and Kangaroo Island is absolutely one of them.

This was my second time at Southern Ocean Lodge for the weekend and honestly… it just hits every time.

Days were a mix of coastal hikes, bike rides, stumbling across completely empty beaches, champagne picnics (because it’s me and obviously), sleeping with the windows open to the sound of crashing waves, and a few very fresh Southern Ocean swims.

It’s the kind of nature that has raw, untamed beauty that just resets something in you… not in a switch-off kind of way, just a reminder of how good it feels to be out in it.

It reminds me of a part in my favourite poem by Lord Byron

„There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep Sea, and music in its roar:
I love not Man the less, but Nature more,”

Anyway, back to the lodge, a beautiful blend of warm, relaxed, incredible food, and that effortless kind of hospitality they just do so well.

Very lucky to have this on our doorstep, I will be back KI, just you wait 🦘🏝️

Tuludi Tranquility, Then the Turn

Khwai has a way of revealing itself slowly.

Our time at Tuludi began a little quieter… softer sightings, slower days, the kind that ask you to settle into the rhythm of the bush rather than chase it.

But what it lacked in pace, it made up for in atmosphere.
The water levels were extraordinary, transforming the landscape into something lush and alive, with reflections stretching endlessly across the floodplains.

And then, as it so often does in Africa, everything shifted.

Our final morning with Nikki the leopard was nothing short of incredible. Effortless, powerful, completely captivating… the kind of sighting that stays with you long after you’ve left.

Tuludi is one of those places that reminds you not to rush a safari.

Sometimes the magic builds quietly… and then all at once.

A weekend that filled my cup in every way… and kept my flute full in the evenings 🥂
