Another incredible day at 90 degrees at the North Pole

I am not sure this will ever feel real.

To be here, surrounded by nothing but ice, silence and the absolute magic of Mother Nature, is something I will be grateful for forever.

There are places that remind you just how small you are, how extraordinary this planet is, and how lucky we are to experience even a tiny part of it. This is definitely one of them.

So so so grateful to PONANT EXPLORATIONS for giving me the opportunity to experience this incredible part of our planet.

Sept 1 at 11:42 am we reached the North Pole

Less than 1000 people a year can claim this and most of them are usually scientists and researchers, so to be able to visit as a tourist is a privilege I do not take for granted.

I can’t even begin to articulate how emotional today has been and how incredible it is not only to be one of the northernmost humans on earth, but also the only Polish person this far north.

Reaching 90 degrees with PONANT EXPLORATIONS onboard Le Commandant Charcot was outside of anything I could have possibly dreamed of.

This place is wild, it is vast, it is peace, and the climate is not forgiving. Even as such, it offers beauty, peace, and one of the most emotionally raw experiences I have ever had - so much ugly crying.

The North Pole has been absolutely magic, I can’t wait to explore more tomorrow.

Day three

We continue to break North 💙

Despite the fact that I am physically here I am in absolute disbelief that there is a part of the planet I live on that looks like this.

I wanted to go onto this trip purely to tick off the North Pole, I had zero idea that I would fall in love with the ice on the journey there.

Mother Nature just continues to overwhelm me with her beauty.

Last December, aboard Ultramarine in the Weddell Sea, I recorded three conversations during what became one of the most extraordinary experiences of my life — Snow Hill.

I was so honoured that Ross, Sofia and Pato agreed to sit down with me and share three completely different perspectives on Antarctica — its history, its ice and the incredible operation that got us to the emperor penguin colony.
