Day 5 of the Great Divide Tours Greening of the Outback Tagalong saw us leave Innamincka and head north along the Arrabury Road then the rock strewn road to Cordillo Downs and its 1873 shearing shed which once housed 120 shearers! Then into Birdsville Hotel for a great meal, tomorrow we fly over Lake Eyre!

Day 4 of the Great Divide Tours Greening of the Outback Tagalong saw us leave Tibooburra in light rain 🫣 and drive north to Warri Gate, then Jenny’s Lake ( Jenny Stanton)
Fortunately the Santos road was open which saved us about 200 k’s and 3 hours driving to reach the Dig Tree before settling in at Innamincka
We saw an Australian Busted and a Camel and lots of gibber plains covered in grass which is highly unusual

Day 3 of the Great Divide Tours Greening of the Outback Tagalong saw me lead our group of travellers out to Cameron Corner and Lake Pinnaroo at Fort Grey. The county side continues to be covered in lush vegetation with various flowers blooming. Whilst most other unsealed roads continue to be closed from the wet weather earlier this year the main road from Tibooburra to the Corner is in good condition.

Day 2 of the Great Divide Tours Greening of the Outback Tagalong saw us duck into Silverton to have a quick look at this great town.
To my great surprise behind the bar in the Hotel was a very good mate of mine, Peter Moore who flew me over the flooded Lake Eyre in 1998 on a very memorable trip. Then we discovered that Leeanne formally of the Licola Caravan Park is now also working at Silverton Hotel, she says hi to Tom and Dawn Savage and Jenny Stanton.
Then we headed in convoy up the Silver City Hwy to Packsaddle then Milparinka and finally into Tibooburra for the night with a great meal in the Family Hotel
Here are a few pics from our day.

Day 1 of the Great Divide Tours Greening of the Outback Tagalong saw us travel from Cobar to Wilcannia then down the west side of the Darling River to Menindee then onto Broken Hill.
The whole countryside is covered in green, where I normally see red earth its green green green, and thousands of feral goats everywhere.
A lot of wild flowers starting to bloom and a few pelicans in Menindee Lake.

I’ve been doing my little radio segment with The Duck every week and now for over 12 years, chatting about places to visit and tracks to drive around Oz. But this week The Duck gave me an incredible wrap, thanks mate , not sure I’m up there with some of the legends you named but I’m just chuffed to be able to help you and your listeners experience this great country of ours.
