TT Nav days… 4 years ago. Now it’s all hardcore tracks and a fully modded Patrol. I liked the old days better. 😅

Have you ever done the Deep Creek tracks around Walhalla? How did you find it?

Years ago, we went up there in my old manual Ranger, and it was raining pretty heavily. I was climbing in second gear, but the Ranger just couldn’t make it up. I tried to quickly shift into first, but I missed the gear, and suddenly the car started rolling backwards down the hill.

I probably rolled backwards for about 50 metres. Luckily, I had the presence of mind to keep the steering wheel straight and stay calm. I eventually managed to get it into first gear, and the car stopped. 🙏 At the time, I honestly thought I’d damaged the transmission!

Definitely one of those moments I’ll never forget — and a good reminder of how quickly things can go wrong on a steep, slippery track.

The next time I went back, it was summer. I was determined to finally finish the track — and this time, I did. 💪

Sometimes you just have to come back and finish what you started! 😅
