At the start of the year, I worked with two families to build a tailored South Island adventure. There's so much to see and do in New Zealand, and it's always a balance between the buffet of choice and the pace children (and adults) can handle.
My itineraries sometimes feature a 1-night stop, but that's usually for a tick-list item worked into a longer road trip between destinations. As a rule, I aim for at least 2 nights in each place, so everyone gets a proper rest between drive days — especially in winter, when the roads can be winding, wet, and icy.
When skiing is part of the trip, it always goes at the end. That way, if a ski mishap happens, it doesn't derail the rest of the holiday.
My clients have finished their road trip and are now enjoying the slopes and ambience in Queenstown. They even got to experience an earthquake — everyone's fine, thankfully! 🏔️
If New Zealand is on your list, get in touch and let's build an itinerary that fits your family perfectly. ✨
