IM BACK!!! 🤩🤩🤩

Hey guys!
Sorry I neen MIA lately, lots of stuff going on, one being a nasty cut to my finger (Ill explain on the vid)... 🩹

But Im almost fixed and ready to get back into everything!!! I have been missing my routine so much, but mostly, I have missed all my amazing surf and fitness community, cant wait to see you all 🤩🤩🤩

An environmental researcher says Western Australia's surf breaks need formal protection from threats including extreme weather and coastal development.

University of Western Australia researcher Ana Manero is leading a project to develop state-level surf management guidelines and will hold focus groups in Yallingup and Margaret River in coming weeks.

Dr Manero said WA's surf breaks were largely unprotected by coastal planning policy.

"We have some of the best waves on the planet, especially in Margaret River," she said.

"But these surf breaks are now invisible to our local coastal management policies."

Dr Manero said land-based infrastructure built along the coast had the potential to impact swell.

"Building seawalls or building roads to protect the homes and providing other infrastructure on land," she said.

"That inevitably has an impact on how the waves form because it changes fundamentally how the sand builds up and how the reefs behave.

Dr Manero said formal protections are required to ensure the future of surfing across the state.

"In WA, what we would aim for is to have a state-level policy that basically says, surf breaks exist, surf breaks are important, and they cannot be destroyed," she said.

"It's not rocket science. It's really just protecting the assets that provide so much benefit to our communities, both in terms of your personal wellbeing, your health, but also the economy and the sense of belonging for all these communities."
