My name is Dani Potter and I am an independent Travel Agent, operating under Global Travel Network with over 25 years experience. For as long as I can remember I have always had a passion for travel which led me to start my career as a Travel Agent in 1999! I have travelled to over 34 countries and won many awards. My global geographical skills assist me in providing my clients with the best routes to meet their needs based on preference, cost and time, whether it be for leisure or business. After being in the travel industry for so long you come to realise that success comes from growth through product knowledge and experience, loving what you do every day and I can honestly say I love it more now than I did when I started. This is because things are always different and I absolutely thrive on a challenge! I am highly motivated, reliable and pride myself on my many loyal, repeat clients. I love going the extra mile and my clients know that they are in safe hands and will receive a stress-free travel experience with me taking care of every detail in the background, regardless of what nature or airlines have in mind. With the global situation the way it is, it is the best time for me to operate my own Travel Business. Reducing overhead costs and creating extra flexibility will give me the best opportunity to continue to look after my wonderful clients both from a service and value point of view. Confession: I am actually a massive homebody.

I love being at home, I love my dog, I love my creature comforts and yes, there is almost always a Diet Coke involved somewhere. 😂

And yet, somehow, I chose a career that has had me travelling all over the world for nearly three decades.

It is a funny contradiction, but it probably sums me up pretty well.

I can be perfectly happy having a quiet night at home, but if you hand me a Business Class ticket and tell me we are heading somewhere incredible, I am absolutely coming.

Antarctica? Yes.
South Africa? Absolutely.
Vietnam? Definitely.
A slightly ridiculous adventure with some of my favourite people? Even better.

I think that balance is part of what I love about travel so much. Home is where I recharge, but travel is where I get that sense of excitement, curiosity and perspective that keeps me wanting to see more.

Also, for someone who has spent 28 years in travel, I still somehow overpack every single time. Some things never change.

Google is brilliant for inspiration. It can show you hundreds of hotels, flights, reviews and “best places to visit” lists in a matter of seconds.

But it does not know you.

It does not know whether you hate changing hotels every second night, whether you would happily spend more on Business Class and less on a room, whether your kids need downtime in the afternoon, or whether your last holiday left you exhausted because you tried to do far too much.

Those are the questions I care about.

Before I start building a trip, I want to understand who is travelling, what matters to you, what you are comfortable spending, what you loved or hated last time, and most importantly, how you actually want the holiday to feel.

Because two people can ask me for exactly the same destination and end up with completely different itineraries, and that is how it should be.

The goal is not to find the most options. It is to narrow them down to the ones that genuinely suit you.

If you have a trip in mind but are overwhelmed by all the choices, start with a conversation. I will ask the questions that help turn “somewhere in Europe” or “maybe Africa” into something that feels like your trip.

One of the most useful parts of my job happens before anything is actually booked.

Give me a rough itinerary, a few destinations and the dates you are thinking about, and I can usually start spotting the things that might cause problems later.

Maybe you are trying to fit too much into too little time. Maybe the flight looks like a bargain but has a horrible connection. Maybe the hotel is beautiful, but nowhere near where you actually want to be. Or maybe the itinerary simply needs a little more breathing room so you can enjoy the trip rather than race through it.

These are the details that can completely change how a holiday feels.

My job is not just to make the bookings. It is to look at the whole journey and ask, “Does this actually make sense for this person?”

Sometimes the best thing I can do is add something. Sometimes it is to take something out. And sometimes it is simply changing the order so everything flows better.

A quick destination snapshot for today: Antarctica ❄️🐧

It is one of the most remote and extraordinary places you can visit, with dramatic ice-covered landscapes, incredible wildlife and a sense of scale that is almost impossible to describe until you are there.

Expect penguin colonies, seals, whales, towering glaciers and days where the scenery feels completely surreal. It is not your typical holiday, and that is exactly what makes it so special.

For travellers who love nature, wildlife and once-in-a-lifetime experiences, Antarctica is one of those destinations that truly deserves a place on the bucket list.

If you ask me to name one of my favourite destinations, South Africa will always be right up there. 🇿🇦

It is one of those places that gives you so much in a single trip. You can wake up early for a safari, spend the afternoon surrounded by incredible landscapes, enjoy beautiful food and w**e, explore vibrant cities, and still feel like there is so much more left to discover.

What I love most is the variety. South Africa can be adventurous, luxurious, relaxing, cultural, food-focused, wildlife-filled, or a combination of all of it. It is the kind of destination that can be tailored beautifully depending on how you like to travel.

And of course, the wildlife is unforgettable. Seeing animals in their natural habitat is something photos simply cannot prepare you for. Those moments stay with you.

It’s the middle of the week, and I found myself scrolling back through some of the lovely reviews clients have left me over the weeks.

Messages like Angela’s are such a reminder of why I do what I do. Behind every itinerary, flight change, hotel booking and last-minute adjustment is a real person trusting me with something important, and I never take that lightly.

Reading that my support, communication and attention to detail have helped make someone’s travels smoother and more enjoyable is incredibly motivating. These are the moments that keep me excited about this work, even after all these years in travel.

We’re officially heading into the fourth quarter of the year, which means 2027 travel is suddenly not that far away. ✈️

If you already know you want to travel next year, now is a really good time to start getting those plans in place. Flights, popular hotels, cruise cabins and sought-after experiences can all become harder to secure the longer you leave it, especially if you are travelling during school holidays, peak seasons or around major events.

You do not need to have every detail figured out yet either. Even if you only have a destination, a rough time of year, or a general idea of the kind of trip you want, we can start there and build the rest around you.

This view is too beautiful not to share. Send this post to someone you would love to experience Japan with.✨

There is something about travel that gives you so much to look forward to. The places you have never seen, the food you have not tried yet, the little moments you cannot plan for, and the feeling of finally standing somewhere you have imagined for months or even years.

Japan is such a beautiful example of that. From peaceful shrines and incredible scenery to buzzing cities, amazing food and unforgettable cultural experiences, there is always another adventure waiting around the corner.

Sometimes simply having a trip in the calendar can give you that little spark you need, something exciting to count down to and dream about.

I absolutely love getting messages like this while my clients are away. Ange and her sister Kate have been making the most of an incredible trip through Spain and Portugal, and they are now continuing the adventure on a 10-night Trafalgar Best of Morocco tour.

The Sahara Desert has already been one of the big highlights, and judging by the photos, it is easy to see why. There is something so special about watching a trip come to life through the eyes of the people actually experiencing it.
What makes this one even more exciting is that this is already their second trip this year. I love helping clients keep that travel momentum going, whether it is one big bucket list holiday or a year filled with a few different adventures.
