Incase you missed it, something very special happened in The Margaret River Region last night - The Aurora Australis came to town..! 🤩

Perched atop the iconic headland north of Injidup Beach, local photographer Hamish Stubbs Photography ventured out into the dead of night and was rewarded handsomely for his efforts. 🙌🏻

"A very rare occurrence to see the Aurora Australis this far north" according to Hamish, an avid landscape photographer who loves to create imagery along the dramatic coastlines of the south west. 📷

Commonly known as the 'Southern Lights' this heavenly phenomenon is typically reserved for travellers venturing down to the deep southern latitudes of Antarctic waters. Thanks to the glorious clear skies experienced along this south western tip of Western Australia dreams turned into reality. ✨

𝗣𝗲𝗱𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘅 𝗪𝗔

Pedal Prix WA 🏁 is on this Sunday 21 August, at the Busselton Forshore (West of The Equinox).

This competition will see teams race Human Powered Vehicles (HPV) on a closed controlled circuit, over a 6 hour period from 10am - 4pm. The race is part of the UniSA HPV’s Super Series, staged by Australian International Pedal Prix.

Come down to witness this exciting event and join the City in supporting HPV racing in WA.

The sky is the limit: Hot Air Ballooning edition! 🔥💨🎈

In 2023, the skies of the Avon Valley in Northam will transform into a colourful vista of hot air balloons:
🎈 May 5 to 13 for the Australian National Ballooning Championships
🎈 September 4 to 9 for the Women’s World Hot Air Ballooning Championships.

Thousands of visitors are expected to travel to the region for these championship events, spending millions of dollars and supporting local tourism operators, the region’s amazing bars and its restaurants while there 🙌

Exciting news WA - a series of enormous wooden sculptures are going to be installed throughout Mandurah towards the end of 2022.

The giants will be up to five metres tall and placed in secret locations - just waiting to be discovered!

We know that this addition to Mandurah will be sure to attract more visitors to our incredible Peel region, and provide a boost to the local economy.
