The old timers worked this stretch of Reedy Creek long before us — chasing colour with nothing but a pan, a shovel, and stubborn hope. Every time I step into a place like this, I wonder what they saw… and what they left behind.

Today I’m testing the Beechworth end of the creek, right where the early prospectors once called “good ground.”
The history is still here — and so is the gold.
