With much sadness and following initial recovery efforts, Blue Lagoon Cruises has made the difficult decision to retire MV. Fiji Princess following an incident on the 4th of April 2026.

The ship, which has been part of the Blue Lagoon Cruises fleet for more than 22 years, dragged whilst at anchor during a severe weather event and as a result grounded on a nearby reef. All guests and crew safely disembarked.

Guests impacted by the retirement of MV. Fiji Princess will be contacted and provided with an array of alternate options.

Blue Lagoon Cruises would also like to say a big Vinaka Vakalevu to everyone for their support and well wishes during such a difficult time.

The team at Blue Lagoon Cruises appreciates the many guests who cruised on board Fiji Princess, and we know many amazing memories were created on board. We would therefore love for you to share your images, memories, or comments as a final salute and as a fitting end to an amazing era of cruising.

Not something I thought I’d have to post, not ever want to. I’m thinking the cyclone has blown them in and fingers crossed they will go away in the aftermath.
Please be careful if currently in Fiji

This could work!
But, on a more serious note South Sea Cruises have added a fuel surcharge payable upon check in.
It won’t take long for the other transport services to follow suit.

Vuda Marina is going nuts for sustainability.

In a world first, we are trialling a new system designed to tackle rising fuel costs while leaning into more eco-friendly solutions. Inspired by Japanese vending technology, our fuel bowsers now accept whole coconuts in exchange for fuel.

Yes, you read that right.

Simply insert your coconut and let the system do the rest.

This trial starts today, so bring your best nuts down to the marina and give it a go. Our team will be on hand to assist and monitor the rollout.

Game changer for boat owners, locals, and anyone looking to fuel up a little differently.

Conditions apply. Coconut quality may affect output.
