A big day from Camp 18 on the Madigan Line, down to the Eyre Creek crossing, and through Adria Downs Station to a clay pan camp on the QAA Line. A huge diversity of scenery and well positioned for our assault on Big Red the next day!

Simpson Crossing 2/2 ✅
Big Red (largest dune in the Simpson Desert) proved to be reasonably difficult this morning. Some hot days and a fierce Easterly wind made the Western side SOFT! Good on all the team for making it up successfully. Eventually 😎

Many of you will have met Don on our Simpson Desert Tour. What an absolute legend. I wish him a long and happy retirement.

For more than 30 years, Don Rowlands has been the ranger in charge of Munga-Thirri National Park, in Queensland's far south-west corner. But the time has come for him to hang up his uniform.

A big day from Mt Dare to Old Andado for lunch, then out onto the Madigan Line. The wildflowers were off the charts after recent rain, as was the birdlife where we camped.
