After almost 6250 km and 20 - 30 km from Alice Springs, I got a flat! My own fault though. I picked the wrong spot to come back onto the single lane sealed road and the sharp edge of the road cut the inside of my back left tyre.

Our last day on the first Centre to the Sea (and back!) Tour took in the wonderful scenery to the Northwest of Alice Springs, stopping off at the excellent art gallery in Papunya. It was not without incident however, when I got a flat 21 km from Alice. I obviously picked the wrong spot to get back on the road on a single lane sealed section, cutting the inside of my left rear tyre. Todd’s mobile service centre sprang into action, while “Outback Karl” offered words of encouragement! After 6,250 km we arrived back at the Desert Palms Villas in Alice Springs. Thanks to all the team for a great trip.

Sunset and sunrise on our final night’s camp for the trip. My new Tommy Campers slide on is performing really well. We’ve had plenty of rough tracks to test it out on this tour and so far it hasn’t missed a beat. The JMacx upgrade with the coil springs in the back certainly makes a huge difference to the overall ride and comfort of the vehicle.
