🐴 Meet Faith! Aptly named, she's our most injury-prone horse but she always bounces back with heart.

Born in 2008, our sweet Standardbred may not be the most athletic in the paddock but what she lacks in speed, she more than makes up for in soul. Faith is all about connection. She loves building trust with her riders and handlers, and she’ll always try her best for the people she bonds with.

How wild and windy has the weather been these past two days? Now imagine facing it with no roof over your head.🌧️

Our WestCare Centre stood ready to support the community by opening its doors day and night offering warmth, refuge, and comfort to those sleeping rough.

Over the two days, 107 people came in from the cold and 74 slept overnight in the safety our chapel. Every person who walked through the doors was met with a warm welcome, a listening ear and the opportunity to connect with vital support that can lead to lasting change.

A big thank you again to our incredible team of staff and volunteers who rallied at a moment’s notice.

Last night, 36 people experiencing homelessness found warmth and safety inside the WestCare Centre chapel during a response.

When extreme weather hits and the SA Government calls a , BaptistCare opens the chapel doors — offering more than just shelter. Guests receive a hot meal, a sleeping bag to keep, access to showers and laundry, and connection to support services that can lead to longer-term change.

As Baptist faith-based organisations, our mission is to strengthen communities by valuing people and helping them experience hope, dignity, and fullness of life.

As cold winds, plunging temperatures and storms roll in, the WestCare chapel doors will remain open tonight—offering a safe, warm place for those sleeping rough during this extreme weather.

Every person who visits our WestCare Centre for a warm shower is given essential personal care items but we are running low and we need your help!

We’re calling on our community to please donate:
🧴 Travel-size shampoo & conditioner
🧽 Soap
🦷 Toothpaste & toothbrushes
🪒 Razors

These small, everyday items mean the world to people experiencing homelessness and can be easily carried in backpacks or plastic bags.

Please drop off donations to: 11–19 Millers Court, Adelaide (off Wright St), Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is observed each year on 15 June. It’s an opportunity for everyone in the community to stand together against the abuse, mistreatment and neglect of older people.

As part of the merged BaptistCare, Baptist Care SA encourages everyone to educate themselves about how to recognise and prevent elder abuse.

The Australian Human Rights Commission has developed resources in 20 languages most spoken by older Australians to increase community understanding about elder abuse and the National Elder Abuse phone line (1800 353 374). Click here to access these resources:

As freezing winds and rain swept through Adelaide over the June long weekend, our WestCare Centre opened its doors in response to Code Blue to provide a safe and welcoming place for people experiencing homelessness. 🌧️

Over three days and nights, 142 people sought refuge, with 90 sleeping overnight in the Westcare chapel. Each person was welcomed with care and given a warm place to rest, a sleeping bag to keep, hot meals, showers, and access to laundry facilities.

Shoutout to our incredible team of staff and volunteers - your time, energy, and kindness made a big impact over an epic three days! ❤️
