❓What is payday super?

Superannuation payments will change with the introduction of Payday Super, which is proposed to start from 1 July 2026.

Under the new framework, employers will need to pay SG contributions simultaneously with salary and wages, replacing the current system where super must be paid at least quarterly.

Wondering how the 1 July super changes might affect you?

Here's a quick breakdown from our superannuation partner, Hostplus:
💰 The Superannuation Guarantee has increased to 12%. This boost, combined with compound returns, helps you build a more comfortable retirement.
👶 Super will now be paid on government-paid parental leave. Analysis shows this will increase a mother-of-two’s retirement savings by about $14,800.*
📊 The transfer balance cap and total super balance threshold have risen to $2 million. This change may impact your retirement income streams and contribution strategies.
💸 Government co-contribution thresholds have changed. If you earn up to $47,488, you could receive up to $500 in co-contributions. Partial contributions may apply if you’re earning up to $62,488.

Yesterday, Sydney’s hotel GMs, HR and Finance leaders gathered for the latest Accommodation Australia NSW Legal & IR Update.

We heard from legal experts Henry Coventry and Russ Baldwin (AHA NSW) on key topics like performance management, terminations, legislative changes, and even AI in law.

Guest speakers included Jenny Lambert OAM (Accommodation Australia) with crucial updates on migration, visas and NABERS ratings, and Emilie Howe who introduced eeger—a new platform supporting the hospitality, tourism and trades industries.

Andrea Comastri, CEO of Hotel Etico Australia, inspired us with the story of Australia’s first not-for-profit social enterprise hotel training and employing people with disabilities.
