The Motherhood

The Motherhood The Motherhood is a place for mums to be inspired, supported, and nurtured through the shared experience and wisdom of others.

Our monthly events - The Motherhood Inspire Sessions - offer an opportunity for you to connect with other mums and be inspired by our guest speakers. Some of the topics we'll cover include "The rise of the Mumpreneur", "Are you taking care of yourself?", "How do you keep up your relationship after kids?", "How to work it: the art of being a mum and businesswomen", and "What does having it all mean

for you? My vision is that The Motherhood will become a platform where women can tell their stories through our online content and events. If you'd like to contribute just drop me a line at [email protected] with a quick outline of what you'd like to talk about. I hope you can join us at one of our upcoming Sydney events and please stay in touch by following us on Instagram and Facebook. Katherine Bruce

Taryn Brumfitt is an amazing woman - who happens to be a Mum - helping to change the way women think about their body and how we talk about body image with, and in front of, our children. Love this message!

I love the wisdom and compassion shared in the Dumbo Feather podcasts. Don't miss this one from Noni Hazelhurst.

Noni Hazlehurst, beloved actor and icon, has spent a lot of time thinking about emotions and empathy—and how they can heal the world. She's a feeler and proud of it!

Listen now to her wise words on The Dumbo Feather Podcast:

Kudos to Cassandra Thorburn for setting the record straight on her choice to be a SAHM and debunking the media's depiction of her as a woman whose life is now over along with her marriage.

The journalist who wrote the article Cassandra refers to also happens to be a woman. I can never understand why any woman tries to bring other women down instead of supporting them, especially in such a deeply personal and painful time.

Dear working mums, I'm aware you spend your days in a competitive environment. You're often surrounded by young co-workers who are a constant reminder that

Such a great perspective on the term "Mumpreneur". I struggled with using this word for our recent event "The Rise of the Mumpreneur" thinking it might be sexist creating another word for a female entrepreneur. I love this take on it - a Mumpreneur is making life easier for other mums and fitting her business around motherhood, rather than trying to fit motherhood around her career/business. Worth a read...

Mumpreneurism is good for the whole community.

Great story from I Do Digital about how SAHM Jody Allen built her online business from home. Jody is refreshingly open and honest about her journey and generous with advice for other women.

"Don’t worry about what anyone else is doing. Just give it a go..." and "...Don’t try and please everyone. Just try and please yourself. That was one big mistake I made. People complaining and you think ‘oh I’ll have to change it’…. If you don’t stand for something, you stand for nothing. I get criticised for things but I don’t care."

How Jody Allen from Stay at Home Mum rose to success.

"Have I ever told you that I think you're a wonderful mum?"

This little sentence carries so much love and means the world when it's received. Together we're stronger when we lift each other up and acknowledge the day to day roller coaster that is motherhood 💕

Regram from . I've always been prone to doing many things at once. Since becoming a mum I find this leaves me overwhelmed, burned out and not able to enjoy being with my beautiful family. This has been my new mantra the past few months and it has made a huge difference to the quality of my life. 💕
